VA Spring Fire Season Starts Feb. 15

During fire season, it's illegal to burn trash or debris outdoors before 4 p.m. Violators of the ban could be fined up to $500. If an illegal fire escapes, a violator is financially liable for the cost of fighting the blaze and any property damage it causes.

Be sure to call your local emergency managment center to let them know you will be conducting a controlled burn. It save fire depts. from responding to controlled burns as well as advising you of laws concerning controlled burns.
