I thought they just announced cutting out Saturday mail delivery because they were billions of dollars in the hole.

Read between the lines. I think there is much more to this story.

"USPS is in need of 50 City Carrier Assistant positions"

Key word "City"

So you're saying this is to replace the 50 workers that are probably out on worker's comp due to pitbull attacks in da jungle while working?

Not sure Grady but I will bet that most of these jobs will be in the neighborhoods/zip codes where they try to deliver all the mail in the early am hours.

You have to wonder how long these jobs will last. They do need to replace the ones that are retiring who have enormous pensions and bennies. The new jobs may not have the same bennies?

these will be replacement carriers, like teacher subs. It's only a 360 day contract at about $12 an hour, limited bennies. You are NOT part of the actual Postal Carriers, so it's like a contractor. But it can lead to being hired permanent by the USPS.

Basically Non~Union scabs ... I like it.
Our USPS would probably run a lot more efficiently without the UNION SCUM!
