In 2015 you will see the former Aldermen and Mayors try to get back in power. DO NOT VOTE THEM BACK!!! They are just as responsible for the crap we deal with now as anyone. We continue to pay the price for the Oak Forest Gateway project that EVERY former alderman voted for.

Do not trust them at all. NEW leadership in every ward and in the mayors office. Fire Dotson, Richmond, Gerdes, and a whole slew of others that refuse to work for anyone other then themselves.

I can see that happening. Who do you think is going to run? For Mayor, I can't see anyone voting for Kelly because of how Laycoax was handled plus if I recall correctly, a lot of people didn't like her harsh personality. Richmond? Many say he may as well be the mayor now. Gordon? The public works guy went down under him. Maybe they are thinking if no one else is going to run, they might as well toss their hat in.

Cindy at the Park District sure is Cavalier about the whole incident. She knows their is no accountability for most of the sports programs and is hoping nobody digs any deeper into how our tax dollars are spent.

I have been watching Oak Forest politics for many years and Gary Gerdes is possibly the best and smartest Building Commissioner we have ever had. I must assume you have some creditable information as to specific wrongdoings on his part. If you have no specific evidence you can only be a political hack, or someone who lost a city job because of your incopitence, probably the latter.

Why does one person believe they must resign and the other one just wants to keep going on as nothing has ever happened? This just places the citizens in a very bad position.

In every elected position there is a way to remove the person if they can not act in their duties... if we can remove a governor or a judge I'm sure there is an option tor a park board member... look into the by laws that set up the park district.

I am not so sure you are correct here. Take Michelle Sopko and her position on the school board. I remember reading that if she did not resign there wasn't anything that could have been done to remove her. I believe Kadner has written about this in the past too. These people can get elected and never show up to a meeting. How is that representing the people that elected them?

Look at the by laws ..... if powerful people can be removed then these too can be removed. I suspect that its a case of not wanting to remove a "buddy "

I do believe there was an incident with a previous Park Board elected Commissioner that missed more than a few meetings and the Park Board of OF tried to vote the person off the board. Not sure if it ever happened, but I know it was moved on in the board meetings. I believe it was 6 or 8 years ago, so would have to look it up!

As for guilt or innocence, this will take a year or two to complete and don't see the State's Attorney changing any stance on this so it will take a long time before it gets resolved, I guess the park district can probably wait that long! Maybe the President of the Park Board should find out the status of the VP and let the community know what is going to happen? Seems there are Board members that want to see this move forward, with or without the VP. What charges could this VP still get convicted under and still be able to hold this office?
