3-alarm vegetation fire outside Vacaville contained

The fire was reported at 11:30 a.m. near the 3500 block of Oak Canyon Lane, off of Cherry Glen Road.

So will the man who started the fire be liable for the damage, or is he off the hook because he had a permit to conduct a control burn?

Good question.

Even the fire spokesperson said it was a wind issue, so I would guess he wont pay...

Time will tell

According to the conditions of a burn permit yes you are responsible if it gets away from you. Also, even. With a permit it has to be a burn day and you have to call in just prior to ignition to verify current weather status for your location.
