in the know wrote: Well you notice there hasn't been anything else in the newspaper about this incident. Does that mean since Pat is a retired Ashland Fire Capt. that they are keeping it quite? The next thing we see in the newspaper concerning this this should be "retired Fire Capt. arrested for being stupid" As horrible as it is that Pat got cut he was the one in the wrong. Sad it ended this way but you can't come on someones property and attack someone. I think they should both maybe get probation and a restraining order. Neither one of them are bad people no more than any other normal person.

I know many of you had questions regarding what type of knife was used. Ironically enough, I heard Pat got stabbed with a commemorative 9/11 knife. Granted, I do not have proof of this and it is a rumor, but I figured I would let Topix know what I heard since so many of you have asked that question. Best, Eric the Machine

I knew that mouth of Pats would eventually get him hurt. I heard when he was on the fire dept nobody wanted to work with him because of his mouth and the way he acted in public was an embaressment. Its amazing Pat never got sued for his antics as a firefighter but I guarantee this will cost him a fortune. Im really surprised he hasn't been in more fights the way he acts. He shouldn't be allowed to carry a gun on him with that kind of childish temper and always being drunk.

Leave it to the legal system? You're a trusting sheep, aren't you? Baaaa It will be two different stories. Pat worked for the fire department long enough to know how to file a police report. Instead he chose to confront someone on their property. Not the right thing to do, and stupid on his part. Everyone keeps saying "noone knows what really happened" or "wait until the facts come out". Can anyone provide facts that would contradict what has been said thus far?

I bet I worked with him more than you! I agree with the statement, he finally let his mouth write a check his ass couldn't cash. I always knew it was going to happen, and all I can say is it couldn't happen to a better person! He gets a few drinks in him and he thinks he is superman. They should get him for DUI too, but they won't.

Do you really think Greear will get a fair shake . Not likely with the Ashland Police doing the investigating . Hedrick is one of the firefighters drinking buddies. The system is rigged against the average Joe if a cop , firefighter, etc. Is on the other side. Hell the cops did not even check the firemans blood alcohol content. The firefighter has never been charged with anything.
If you do not believe this then read about the deputy sheriff who was operating a speed boat erratically at a high rate of speed one dark evening and ran over a sailboat from the rear killing one and injuring others. The Sheriff arrested the sailboat operator and did not even test the deputiy's blood alcohol content. The sailboat operator was charge with manslaughter. He never went to jail but had a lot of legal fees. Tthe deputy was never charged. Caused quite an uproar with the public. This took place a few years ago in Ca.

Snead is right. They will indict Greear and then offer a plea of perhaps 6 months with the rest probation. His lawyer will recommend it (easy money). Greear will be forced to accept it to stop the financial bleeding. The prosecutor will crow about his win percentages. Pat will be back in the bars showing his scars to the bar queens. The system worked and justice was done.
