Well said, you have said it all, you should have posted your name because then I could thank you in person! Since all these people want to just keep degrading us I say All of us quit this site and not give them the satisfaction to keep continuing to do this. We've all cried over Silas and the whole situation,God Knows our heart....these people sure do not....we SHOULD NOT have to keep defending ourselves to them. TO ALL THAT SUPPORT US AND STAND UP FOR OUR HOME......THANK YOU EACH AND EVERYONE
Well I hate to bust your bubble but I am the one who wrote the other post too!! You did not answer my question do you think someone should be fired for this???

Has anyone thought maybe they need to install cameras for each exit or ankle alarms for the patients? I've known Silas for 35 years. Too bad he left without anyone knowing. But don't call it an accident, it was neglect.

I dont think it was neglect!!!!!!!! you dont even know what you are talking about so shut up im pretty sure you wasnt there when it happened! yall make me sick all yall do is set here on this website and gossip about people!! grow up. i mean my gosh!! grow up and get a life! and yeah it is sad that what happened happened this way. why dosnt everyone shut up and let him rest in peace! if the "family" wants to point blame fine the nursing home is at some fault but what about the "family" that put him in the nursing home they knew his illnesses and should have put him in a lock down unit for people with his illnesses... they all knew how big of a risk he was... there are facilities 20 minutes away from cave city with lock down units and they choose our facility with no lock down unit! so blame the nusrsing home but yo should feel at fault to for not putting him in a facility that specializes in care for people with his illness... god had a bigger plan, may you rest in peace silas, you will be missed!

I see that Cave City Nursing Home is looking for a new D.O.N.. Does that mean that the former D.O.N. was terminated over the escape of Silas Lucas? I guess the nursing home had to fry someone over this. I think it's too bad that the authorities in charge of making the high level descisions didn't stand up and say hey guys we are the ones that made these discisions don't bother our staff they are not to blame. But you know what they say shit rolls down hill and the low man on the todem pole gets the blame while the fat cats set around and get fatter.

As i sat here tonite thinking about the family members that lost their loved one I do blame the nurseing home because it was yalls fault.i did work there in 2002 and worked with alot of the same people that works there now and i know for a fact its not about the residents its about a pay check and a smoke break.i myself after working there i would never put a family member in tha place.i know for a fact that residents with familys there and if they a visited often the do get better care than those that don't have familes tat little man did not deseve what happen to him that family trusted everyone in that place to protect their family and their is no way he walked out and no one saw him and it was a sad that attention was not focused on this man if they knew by chance he was at any risk of getting out the alarms on the door should have went off.but know he had to pay the price his life
