Not a supporter of resident big mouth Pam, but I have to say I agree with her pushing the purchase of this fire truck. It is a fact that the city doesn't have a lot of money, but we also do not have a ladder truck. This isn't a luxury, it might be the difference between a close call and a fatality. Good move Pam and Les on this issue.
Please stop

Lana and her band of merry pot stirrers continue to cost BSL Tax Payers money. First dropping dime on the DEQ cost tax payer thousands of dollars and now the uneducated stopping of a meeting that was well within the requirements of the Statutes. PLEASE STOP, I am begging You.

Good job on the part of the fire department, City Counsel and Mayor on getting this fire truck on the fast track. Bad on part of Citizens for good government for slowing the process down. I see no good coming for waiting on this issue which has been well debated before.

Lana NaNa ~ Unwarranted Self-Importance (USI) is a disease that gives you the feeling that you are actually worth something despite not having made any contributions to anything at all, and actually making the world a lousy, putrid, and abominable place, thus making yourself look like a complete douche.

At least have someone watch who will watch everything like she claims as the Hancock COUNTY alliance for good goverment. funny. She didn't know her own city bought a fire truck or haven't you heard that one yet? How does she know THAT sale went according to law when she didn't even know it happened? Or does the alliance for good govenrment just apply to the bay? She admit in her letter that the meeting was lawful but she don't like the law. Well the law is the law and that's a state law. Don't like it talk to the state lana. and sharpen up, who says waveland fire truck is legal? Shouldn't people have a right to know all about that too hell shse lives there.

at least for once it looks like ALmost everyone agrees that the political bickering must stop when it comes to the safety of people. Throwing a monkey wrench into the buying of this fire truck is so far over the line. Lonnie said during his campaign that his people couldn't rest ther heads at night because the city didn't have this truck. The chief hurries to get a truck and he's shocked, didn't know she was getting one? Joey says council budgeted one but didn't approved it? They're so determined to make the chief or mayor look like fools or crooks they'd hold up getting a new fire truck?? Don't anyone try to say this craziness is all about them doing what's best for the public. Lets hope everyone will save the politics & drama for a topic that doesn't have anything to do with our safety.
Great job

I want to thank our Fire Chief for doing a great job getting the ball rolling on a new fire truck. I don't think we can get it soon enough as it will help all of us sleep better knowing our fire department has the equipment it needs if our houses catch on fire. She has done a great job and should be commended by the City Counsel for showing leadership in this matter. You go girl.

How can anyone believe an emergency vehicle purchase is not urgent? It is one of the few things which our Counsel does which should be done with a sense of real urgency. If saving a life isn't urgent than nothing is urgent. What is NOT urgent is political grand standing. That can always wait.

Great job Pam!!!

This is how we should treat our Fire Department---

Ward 1 Councilman Doug Seal was calling the meeting to order Thursday when Lana Noonan, Hancock County Alliance for Good Government chairman, asked to speak.

Noonan read aloud "Title 25 Chapter 41 Sec. 5" of the open meeting laws and said the council was in violation by having the meeting. It said the public must be given a five-day notice of a meeting.

The council conversed and within minutes, Councilman at Large Mike Favre made a motion to adjourn.

City Attorney Donald Rafferty said the section Noonan read pertains to meetings that are teleconferenced or on video.

Nah, not the speller. The same idiot keeps saying "counsel" in different forums. If someone is going to present information, by God, get the damned word right!
