I think it's very sad times for anyone who is poor and just trying to survive. Some people do not have the money to pay certain fees. For them, I am sorry. To loose your home because you don't pay a $75 dollar fee is disturbing to me. I would have paid this fee for them. I wish there was some assistance for people who couldn't come up with the fee money. Life as we used to know it is gone. When people helped one another and valued each other as a people no matter what your financial status. Unfortunately, I don't think we can ever get it back. On the other hand, if you can afford to pay your fees then pay them. Whether or not you agree, the law is the law. This can not be blamed on one person. It's a chain reaction that started with our Government. It's all rooted in greed! That is the toughest part to swallow.

He could afford to pay, he just "forgot". They waited for 2 hours before calling 911 and they started the fire that burned down their house. No firefighter should risk their life for material possessions. It has nothing to do with greed. You want a CITY fire department to put out a fire, move your happy ass inside the city limits. If you live out of the city limits and out in the country, you pay the fee. There is no volunteer fire department or county department. You sure as hell don't wait 2 hours to call 911 while using a garden hose to put out the fire.

Dont worry about him. He sounds like one of the VOLUNTEERS that parade around town thinking they are important. Hell even had some of those types start fires, the run back to the station so they could be the first on the scene to put it out and be the HERO. I am not saying all are that way, but the good ol boy system is to blame for a lot of this bs. If they just sat there and watched it burn, the shouldnt have a job to report to the next day. There are many people that would have ran to help those people. Not ones who just wear the uniform for looks and a hero complex. Get the people that actually want to help, rather than the ones who just want the title. Risking their life is a requirement of the job. If they cant do that, they dont need the job. It would be the same if a cop refused to stop someone from robbing a bank at gunpoint. For fear of their life, over the victims. Tampon wrote: <quoted text>where's ur proof?

Two, they are not paid to risk their lives for material possessions. Nobody was in the trailer. If someone had been in the doublewide, that would be a different story.

From the article itself, " This fire went on for hours because garden hoses just wouldn’t put it out. It wasn’t until that fire spread to a neighbor’s property, that anyone would respond." True, they only responded because the fire was starting to spread. Still, after 2 hours, the trailer could not be saved.

I stand corrected WarriorJudge. You are not a man. My bad. After looking at your profile, I see you are simply just a troll. Thanks for putting it where everyone can see it. You get an A for honesty though. Give yourself a pat on the back.

No. I did not read the article or read the newspaper. I was just weighing in on everyone else's comments. I will do my homework. I know some of those firefighters who wear the shirts and want to be heroes in everyone's eyes but don't want to do the work or take any risks. However, I also know some very good, honest, hard working men who are firefighters. They have risked their lives many times to save homes, not just lives. If it's a fact, It does seem very odd to me that there have been 4 fires at this home.

It funny how people blame OBAMA for everything. Even things he can't possibly be aware of.

Look ding dongs, we pay taxes for our fire dept, and if you want fire protection they offer it for a fee. They show up to make sure fire dosen't spred to those who pay. If they put out your shack for free, why should anyone pay? If nobody pays, then there is no fire dept!

Tampon wrote: <quoted text>where's ur proof? he was sent a bill then another and contacted by phone two more times. He was retired from Goodyear Tire Plant not rich but could pay the fee he choose not to. His grandson started the fire in burn barrel then went inside leaving the fire unattended. Yes they tried for two hours to put out the fire before calling 911. No one at the city wanted the house to burn but that's what is wrong with the whole country you have to take personal responsible the government can't protect everything and everyone.
