Nepotism is alive and well in Stanford. I sure hope the two newly elected Council members will keep their word and at least try to correc this problem. Did anyone see and advertisement for the Fire Chief vacancy?

Ive know Scott for years and have dealt with him on a business level. He is very level headed and I feel he will be great for the fire dept.

Nepotism, really, who is he related to on the council or in an office. If your gonna use big words atleast use the right ones. Oh and by the way, A chiefs position is not an elected position, like sherriff, and an administrative position so its an appointed position. I think he will do well. If anyone remembers, he was one of the educated, well trained, educated firefighters that left under mcdummy. So if the city was gonna follow their track record of nepotism as you call it or just out right stupidity in decision making, they wouldn't have placed Maples in charge. They would have picked soneone who sleeps on the bench infront of the courthouse to be chief. So if your gonna bash, and I know you will, atleast bash with words that ACTUALLY fit the subject.

I hope he brings back the good firemen. They used to do so well with the kids on fire safety. They had one guy that would get down in the floor with the little ones and really alleviate their fears about all the "scary equipment". We need good people to teach and protect our most valuable resource.....our children!
