Maybe you did it because you thought they were black. Got an alibi?

Maybe you did it because you think they voted for Obama. Everyone knows republicans are sore losers and reactionarys. Where were you that night?

Maybe the people in the van did it. After the boy friend for something he did to someone, he does have a record. Could've been a hit.

Maybe the gas company is covering up a leak to avoid liability. Stranger things have happened. Before you people form your lynch mob and break out the rope don't forget how easy it is to convict the wrong people.

Or he hired them. And I would not really call one night at a casino a holiday. I have never known anyone to board a cat for 1 night. The kid at grammies yes. Since she is very young. If these two are not at fault someone did a good job at setting them up. Where is her ex? And no neither is black.

I'd sure like to know if they boarded their cat on a regular basis or if this was a one time thing. If they spent a lot of weekends at a casino and didn't board the cat each time, that would be as suspicious as the rest if it.

Correct! Perhaps authorities did check out the boarder where she said she always took her cat... this would be probably the easiest part of the investigation. However, IF she used them frequently, that still doesn't take her off the hook, except there is a small chance she had no idea her seedy boyfriend was planning to blow up the house.

Having owned house cats and dogs all of my life however, I have put my dogs in kennels/boarders when I was going to leave for a day or more, but never any of my cats. Cats have their own personalities however; the eight year old one I have now is high strung and not a laid back feline like most of my past ones, and she hides and never warms up to strangers. She was a feral cat and has 'past issues'. However, I can leave her for a few days in the house with plenty of water and food and she does just fine. One can't do that with a dog however...LOL!

Did they ever find "Pepper", the dog that belonged to the couple that died? It might have escaped, but if it slept close to them at night, it's body is probably still somewhere in the rubble. Too bad he/she wasn't safe in a kennel that night like the Shirley cat.

So boarding at a kennel overnight, or even two nights, with all the inherent noise from the other animals; strange people; strange smells.
THAT was more peaceful for a cat who had "anxiety problems"??
PUUULLLEEEEEZZZZEEEE!
We have cat we can leave plenty of dry food, extra water, and an extra large litter box in the garage (pet pass-thru in kitchen door to garage), and she is good for 3-5 days.

I hear ya... and cats AND dogs HATE kennels! As you say, other noisy, barking animals incessantly, strange smells and people, etc., and this is better for a cat than living it at home in it's familiar environment? A little hinky, perhaps???

The media reports are really leading you to believe the Shirleys are responsible for this explosion. That said, the circumstantial evidence in this case does seem strongly against them. I heard on the radio last night driving home from work that this had flipped to a criminal investigation and it gave me the chills. I would suspect that they were trying to destroy the house, but had no clue that the explosion would be so devastating. When lazy people desire money and fail to work for it, this kind of thing is possible. If money is all that you love, go out and work for it. Don't blow up houses and kill people trying to cash an insurance check.

I like most of the comments that are on topic, so I won't quote one over the other. What I want to add is the interference it seems the ex husband is throwing out there publicly. It may just be a case where the media searched him out before investigators did and his comments went public. I just find it odd that the ex was front and center immediately after the explosion.

Again I say IF they were not responsible someone set them up really good. But seems everything is pointing to them. And all us cat people know you just would not board one for a night. And the IDIOT Ms Shirley saying she boarded it because if it was at home alone would get anxiety. Did someone really intend to blow up that entire area? I have no clue about explosives but wouldn't you know a little from alot?
