I would like to thank the Folsom Fire Company for all of their service over the years. Thanks for voluntarily risking your lives to help keep our town and residents safe. The posts on here arguing about numbers only further affirms what an amazing and dedicated group of members you must have since you provide the service with relatively few members and clearly not alot of town support. Hats off!

12-3 great job making collings lakes look bad because of your reckless conversation. Come on now....you are entitled to your opinion but don't put 12-3 and don't bash a company you once served and left then came back and left or got removed from again. Folsom and collings lakes don't have issues with each other and this fight is not against collings lakes. They are fine men and women and nobody is bashing their skills.....but imagine how you would feel of you were in this situation and your company was being closed. For the people who were or are still a part of this company have emotions attached and you for one should understand the brotherhood.....listen Folsom is a good fire company and they have done a fine job and you know very well you've supported them too. And as a brother fire fighter you should be mad that ANY fire company is being closed especially volunteer ones. I know who you are and it's not my place to disclose that but you have had ,any conversations with me about the company and you have told me how you've supported them...you've attended their functions and fundraisers. I'm not bashing you but reminding you that you are a firefighter and part of a brotherhood of good men....just because you guys are on the same department doesn't mean you aren't on the same team or work together. Both companies have worked together and been there for each other. Both Folsom and Collings Lakes are fine companies.......and both deserve to be taking care of their own towns and backing up each other when needed.

Sir i want to thank you for your service to others. As the person above stated we are brothers reguardless of the location of our station. We share the same blood sweat and tears doing what we do. Sometimes we may lose a brother or sister in the line of duty. We understand the risks of what we do. We should all be joined together to help our brothers not go against them.

Thank you

Larry jr. Just stop talking you are making Folsom look ridiculous. And stop saying we!!!! Your father and brother are part of the fire company NOT YOU so stop acting like you are. don't talk unless you know what You are talking about. Both companies are good companies just bc one is saying ridiculous things on here doesn't mean he speaks for the collings lakes company. Folsom has no issues with Collings Lakes and you Do NOT represent Folsom fire at all. You were asked to stop making comments on here for your own benefit but once again you don't listen and get yourself and others in trouble. collings lakes please do not associate his comments to Folsom and Folsom do not associate " more common sense" with Collings Lakes. Both are well respected.

Accepting a shared services contract at the expense of another company does not seem like support. I am not naive enough to think that members had a say in this happening but someone in the organization must have agreed and helped to set this in motion. If no other company would have agreed to take over Folsom services, they would not be in this situation.

Larry jr you are absolutely correct I am not a member and as far as impressing anyone I don't need todo that either. As far as defending the company you are doing that and it is appreciated but there is a way of doing so and calling out things that possibly are not facts isn't the way to do so. There is nothing wrong with standing up for what you believe but you were bashing the other company just as more common sense was so you were falling to that level where you didnt have to. We are all going upon things that were said to us or to others and rumors spread like wild fire. A lot of people care what's going on and are standing up......I'm not telling you to stop defending what you believe but don't drop to a level that you don't need to go. I don't know you but I know of you.....and I know you are better than what is being displayed. Anger gets the best of us and makes us say things before we think I am just as guilty of that......I wasn't trying to bash you I just wanted you to realize what was being said before something was said to be regretted.

If u don't know me how do you know I was told not to write on this site again obviously there is some connection you as well as everyone else know of me I put my name out there cause I'm not going to hide how I feel somethings I said aren't a detriment but others are very true and as far as I know there is always a night with Santa at the lakes fire house and every year my girls are invited as well as other members of the fire company witch I no longer am and I found it funny this year no invite that just goes to show this was already in motion and denied repedly to members of Folsom I'm just saying that's not rite and for one of there members to put the town of Folsom is now safe cause of 12-3 that's plain wrong but I'll stop even though I don't want to and I'm easy to find to talk too so if I offended anyone I will apologize like a man to there face not hide behind a keyboard but the stuff there saying isn't right and shouldn't be said especially by there members

I have seen the Volunteers go into 3 burning, smoke-filled homes withOUT HESITATION. ALL DESERVE A THANK YOU. When we handled the 911 for the CL ambulance squad, we would see the Folsom FD crew help out so many times in the BVT section and elsewhere, incl. taking supplies to Hurricane vicitims in other states incl. Florida.

The mayor, council and the councilman assigned to the FD should have spoken with each volunteer prior to this. All I have seen and heard is the contest between the Mayor and Chief. They messed up! As they did w/former Clerk(s).

As for the Mayor and a Councilman; they have said twice in past 2 years during public sessions, about the CL section; "...was down "there" a few years ago when I was running for office..." The quotation on "there" is mine as to emphasive what they think about the CL section and its residents. So, how about taking a few hours in next 10 years to take a ride down "there" to see what is happening and how much territory and issues the FD has had? Such as treacherous buildings and obstacles, and lack-of-access to rear of homes; and so-on.

I want to thank those of you who are here to support the Folsom Vol. Fire Co. We are now attempting to do whatever possible in order to resume firefighting duties. We would not even have a chance to do this without the support we have recieved. I was asked to respond to some of the posts on this page so let me set the record straight. First, the Folsom Vol Fire Co has been around since 1946 and has served with dignity and pride which can not be tarnished by a few bad apples. While we all show passion for the same cause there is a right way and a wrong way to go about it. Larry Smith Jr has no affiliation with the fire co, and does not speak for us or on behalf of my family. More common sense was a former member of our dept and a few other dept's in the area. You both have some strong words yet no actual clue of what you are talking about. Being a member of any fire dept takes a lot of courage, most people just don't volunteer this day and age, which is why there is such a great brotherhood. Al, please remember that brotherhood and remember that what you post on here can not be taken back and will be read by everyone. I have encountered many dangerous situations in my years as a firefighter and can honestly say I never waited for anyone to do the job I needed to do. You have no right to pick a fight with a town you live in just because you felt the need to move on to a different dept. I have nothing but respect for the members of the Collings lakes fire dept and yes if there is no longer something to fight for I will be a member in Collings Lakes because I love to do the job. This is simply a battle between the fire co and the elected official's in the town of Folsom. I can not believe some of the negativity I am reading. This is not helping either side. We ask everyone to support the Folsom Firefighters in every way possible until the proper solution shows itself. Firefighters don't break each other down they build each other up. I am not here to get into any arguements and you will not be seeing me post anything else unless warranted. For now we fight for the ability to serve the residents of Folsom, thank you and god bless all of our Firefighters.

Yes I don't speak for u the Folsom company or your family but come on call a spade a spade if things were done a little different maybe I wouldn't feel the way I do people shouldn't be bashing the company of Folsom that I have no affiliation with but used to I can't be a member cause I'm not wanted that's why or else I would love to join I've done nothing but help when in area and tried to assist the best way I could you know that don't tell me I have no clue I know a little less than u but still here what gets said in the house I'm not trying to start trouble but thought I was sticking up for u and your not mine fellow members but of course slam me like u always do what ever I'm used to it freedom of speech is a great thing and won't b taken away from me I didn't agree with what al was saying and let emotions get the best of me I already apologized to who I offended but that's how I felt you only want who u want to support u and that's not rite but what ever good luck it don't look good thankyouand god bless our firefighters

This walk all done due to increased alien activity in the area. Mayor and council have been placed under mind control by the visitors. They are planning to land behind the firehouse and use it for their short stay here. Watch they sky people. It's getting ready to happen. You are all arguing about petty subjects and starting wars amongst each other while the real deal is happening. Watch for the lights. The creeks will run backwards. And the visitors will be amongst us. Band together. Even the alien fire delta do not argue such as this. Earthlings be aware

I have been a resident of Folsom for 15 years. Fortunately I've only had to call on the fire department once due to a gas leak. Most people are lucky enough to never need the assistance of a fire department. To me personally, there is no better feeling of security knowing that one of my local residents is able and willing to respond to a 911 call 24 hours/ 7 days a week without the reward of receiving any pay for their service. Since 2001, I have seen my property taxes increase by 70 percent. I understand in todays economy that all facets of government needs to slim down but I would have to assume that the numbers that are floating around ($15,000 to $25,000) are one of the smaller yearly budgets that our local government spends on services. It is hard to believe that this cut in local services is going to benefit the community in the long run. I hear people say that the Folsom FD hasn't had to extinguish a large fire in a number of years. These people should go drive by the Dennis House on Fleming Pike. It too had a fire house down the street that was closed. I would hate to see that happen to someone else. As much as I dislike paying property taxes I would be willing to pay more for the security of having a fire department located in the same town I live in. If this is a cost savings measure there has to be another solution. Perhaps Mayor and Council should follow the lead of our firefighters and volunteer their time. That savings alone should fill in the budget gap. I agree with the other posts on here if you have something to say step up as a man or woman and put your name on it.
