Clark Speakman served the county of Bernalillo and Sandoval for many years. Many of those years were as a volunteer. He was a member of the old ACRA (Albuquerque Citizens Radio Association) which was the main search and rescue organization in the area. He served as the Fire Chief of Bernalillo County Volunteer Fire District Five and later became the Fire Marshal of Sandoval County. He was active in the Southwestern Division of the International Association of Fire Chiefs and served on the Board of Directors for several years. He served his city, county, and state far beyond the call to duty. Farewell old friend, you will be missed by many.

I worked with Chief Speakman for many years with Bernalillo County Fire Department. He was well respected and admired. He professionalism and dedication was definitely above and beyond. A true pioneer in many areas, he will be greatly missed.

Was the cause of death fire related or was he ill?
