Who is on the board?

They should be billing ins. for the 400+ medical runs they are making. I pay for ins. to cover this and won't pay twice. We have lifestar in our backyard and they haven't tried to rape us.

I'm not a member thief but the fire chief sits on the board.

Bagwell is on the board. So is Eddie Campbell, Ken Evans, a guy named Allen who lives on park road and a lady.

Unless you stand up to this guy he will do what he wants.

Devol try getting the real facts before you post on here. Everyone just wants to start crap! I have never seen so much BS in my life! It is truly sad that people have nothing better to do than make up a bunch of fictitious facts and try to start more crap about things they have no idea about. Chad try getting all the facts before you post about AVFD. Why don't you try going to their firehouse and sitting down and talking to them about the program. No you like all the others would rather spew a bunch of vile lies instead of taking time to find out the truth. Nobody likes change, but this isn't the 70's and we are all forced to change with the times

Finally, someone with some sense. Great men like Chief Bagwell come along once in a lifetime. He isn't afraid and doesn't answer to Terry Frank, he county commission or the board of directors. This is his decision alone, and if he says we need it then we need it.

Done deal, go on to crying about something else.

You can thank Jim Brubaker for all of this. Him and his pals are trying to shut the department down.

What really sucks is that they have only ran a total of 42 FIRE CALLS in the past 3 years. If they want to run every finder binder from Knox county to Campbell Co.its there own fault. I know for a fact that just last week they ran a wreck in front of rocky top market and the Clinton city cop had to be rude trying to get the dumb people to understand that they had been on Seine 12 min the cars were in a parking lot and they were not needed. Not to mentioned they are running calls inside Norris city limits when mutual aid is not requested. I've herd so many say they are tired of doing boot driver and chili suppers that is why they want to charge a subscription. So they can just play with the equipment and not have to work for the money. If they don't want to do fundraising get out and someone else will fill your boots Bagwell needs to be run out of AVFD just like he was at Claxton

If AVFD would rember they are a volunteer FIRI department and stop running every call they can jump in Clinton Norris and north Knox Co with Rual. Metro they would be able to afford to stay open without this shake down they are trying to pull. My biggest concern is it they pull this off the fire halls are owned by Anderson Co. When they make a proffitt the county can no longer allow them to lease these properties by they are gonna blow a lot of money paying for equipment they don't need and salary for Bagwell so they can keep a strangle hold on the people of Anderson county. Its time to reorganize AVFD with people who want to volunteer there time and efforts for the good of the community. And stop jumping every call they hear. The trucks are not TONKA TOYS stop acting like they are

Firestarter aka Jim Brubaker, you obviously don't understand our responsibilities as first responders. To be frank, not FRANK, we are better trained to handle the emergencies than the local sheriff or Norris City.

People in Norris want us to work their fires, and want to shut down their small station.

Our Board knows what is best for the community. They control the shots about going to a subscription fire service. The BOARD. Get upset with them, it was their call. We are just fire fighters serving people. They are the politicians. We o what we are told.

Sorry you didn't get your way Jim.

Why do you blame this Begwell guy and not Board of Directors? It sounds like they made the decision and he is just carrying out their wishes. If they voted to do this I blame them, and not this flunky. Why aren't they taking any heat?
I'm confused....doesn't the county already give AVFD money each year already? Like 40k? They also bought a new fire truck for the department, do you plan on giving it back?
Now I am being asked to pay a membership fee, on top of the tax money you already get from the county? How does that work?
Let's not forget the $150 for medical emergencies you are going to charge! I called for an ambulance, not a fire truck...keep that in mind! Maybe the county will pull your first responder agreement, hard to charge if you have no medical direction to operate under.
The truck was bought on a grant from the federal Government and the county only gives each department 20,000 dollars which doesn't cover the cost of insurance.
