About right. You stormed into the Belmont community. Took the little park before anyone knew about it. Now you are going to charge a subscription. Or what you let the house burn?

With the fire department in the Bemont community homeowners nearby should see lower rates on their insurance so I for one think it's a great idea. As for the subscription I'll gladly pay the $0.08 per square ft.

Directors want money, money. money. Is the bottom line. The ones who put out fires will be the lowest paid.and someone behind a desk will get the big end of the stick. Now will you please change your name from volunteer fire dept to we get paidfor our service fire dept.

First off they did not "storm in and take the land" secondly the only people that will get paid are the full time employees. Nobody on the board of directors will be paid. I love how people just pull crap out of their butts without getting the real facts! You are all clueless!

No you want us to believe we are clueless.but truth of the matter is avfd has grown to big to operate by blocking traffic for donations. You must put more burden on the tax payers to support your cause, money in your pockets out of my pockets. The liberal american way du....as.

It's not about burdening anyone. It's their choice if they want to be a member. It's very unfortunate that they decided to go this direction, but the donations just weren't there anymore. Just like any service that anyone receives, it is a cost to someone. I believe that in the long run it is going to improve the services received by AVFD, but you have your opinion and I am not going to argue about it. Just have facts, don't go by hearsay. Nobody wants change, but unfortunately that area is growing by leaps and bounds and change is inevitable.

Until real fire fighters took the AVFD over it was simply a place to gather and tell stories. Now it is a REAL fire station ran by a REAL firefighter.

Simply put, professionals get PAID. To get a highly trained specialist in to run this operation costs money. The people in he community should be glad that REAL fire fighters have taken an interest in the community.

Would you expect Red Adair to put out a fire for free?

Why do you object to this? Taxpayers shouldn't have to pay for these services. If you want something, pay for it.

The more I think about this the madder I get. Why should me as a taxpayer have to pay for your fire protection? I don't want. My tax dollars paying for things like fire protection, police protection or schools.

I can home school my children or send them to a private school. The second amendment lets be buy a gun to protect my house so I don't need the police. And how often does something actually catch on fire that's worth saving. The fire department, like the public schools and sheriffs dept is a joke.

Get rid of all of them.

If you want fire protection pay. Listen to the MAN. Quit having your taxes taken to pay for fire depts, police, schools and other things that we don't need. If people want to subscribe to this service let them. That is their right.
