Mr. Jim Stone does have the right to collect tractors. However, as he has so many tractors (approximately 25)parked on his front/side lawn, he cannot keep the area mowed. This is a health hazard as it creates an area for rats and other vermin to breed. This will also attract snakes. By the way, concern about snakes was one of the reasons Mr. Stone removed all of the trees on the two acre plot between Timree Street and Parker Boulevard. More on that in a minute. I'm as sensitive as anyone when it comes to property rights, and I certainly respect Mr. Stone's. However, the junk like appearance he has created adversely affects my property value and the property values of all people in the immediate area. As I noted, Mr. Stone is concerned about snakes. He made it clear that his purpose for clearing his two acre plot was to get rid of snakes and possums and skunks. At the very least by clearing this land of all vegetation, he has created a potential erosion problem along Timree Street. He has also indicated that it is not his problem if someone drives off Timree Street to the bottom of the ravine. It will cost the citizens of Weaver nearly $3,000.00 to install a traffic barrier in this area. Mr. Stone has made a commitment to clear away the debris, terrace the area, and plant vegetation to prevent erosion. I certainly hope he keeps his world.
