Interresting, 2000? OK, 13 years is more up to date than 25 years but still history.. Note there is a difference between corruption risk and corruption. However the USA today article is not particularly specific

Not interested in the new american article considering the abuses performed by US troops in Afghanistan, Iraq and of course the good old guantanamo bay and the light-hearted good old boys way they presented those reports.

Journalism would be acceptable but sensationalist supermarket tabloid hype does not do it for me

By the very accounts you cited the UN are investigating the claims. Does that sound like corruption?

French riot police use tear gas on anti-tax protesters

AFP - French riot police fired tear gas at thousands of demonstrators in north-west France on Saturday, after some protesters hurled stones and iron bars at them in a rally against a controversial green tax and layoff...

Protest organisers said 30,000 people, including hauliers, fishermen and food industry workers, had gathered in the town of Quimper in Brittany to demonstrate against an environmental tax on trucks and layoffs, even though the government had earlier in the week suspended the application of the so-called ecotax.

Authorities estimate that 15,000 people joined in the protest....

I have no opinion of the results from Chris's two experiments; they have NOTHING to do with climate change mitigation or man made global climate change. There have been thousands of experiments on closed or small biospheres and changes in atmospheric content. It's foolish to write: "they are not expeiments[sic]", those are Chris' words, not mine.

P.S. Man made CO2 is exactly the same as natural CO2, there is no chemical difference so what the fook are you trying to make an irrelevant and deliberately obfuscating distinction for?
Man's CO2 is insignificant, compared to natural CO2 emissions. The oceans contain 25 times more CO2 than the air and as they warm they emit CO2 like an open soda pop as it warms. Also, man made CO2 is exactly the same as natural CO2 because we are part of nature, not separate from nature.

I don't believe "plants are not natural", only Chris could be foolish enough to say that. I've never written anything of the sort.

I wrote experiments on CO2 and plant growth aren't the same thing as experiments on CO2 and climate. I'm interested in climate change mitigation experiments of experiments testing man made climate change. Chris has learned what an experiment is but doesn't understand how experiments differ.

Experiments are used to test hypotheses logically derived from theory. For instance, if you have a theory that CO2 is good for plants, you'd create a hypothesis like more CO2 increases plant growth, or more precisely predict some ideal CO2 ratio like 270ppm, 350ppm or 1,500ppm. Then prepare test atmospheres with different amounts of CO2 replacing different amounts of Oxygen, Nitrogen or Argon. You'd want to test not only the effects of CO2 but control how much the content of other atmospheric gas affects plant growth. If you've controlled all other variables and if your experiment can be duplicated, you've successfully tested one theory, not all theories.

lyin' brian is lyin' again. The oceans are *absorbing* CO2 as they warm. An observational fact.
An international team of scientists found that oceans have taken in about 118 billion metric tons of carbon dioxide from human activities between 1800 and 1994, accounting for nearly a third of their long-term carrying capacity.

The 15-year study, conducted and analyzed with the help of several researchers around the world, looked at nearly 72,000 samples taken in the Atlantic, Pacific and Indian oceans.
http://www.planetark.com/dailynewsstory.cfm/n...
The amount of carbon dioxide being absorbed by the world's oceans has reduced, scientists have said.

University of East Anglia researchers gauged CO2 absorption through more than 90,000 measurements from merchant ships equipped with automatic instruments.
http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/uk_news/7053903.st...
Scientists have issued a new warning about climate change after discovering a sudden and dramatic collapse in the amount of carbon emissions absorbed by the Sea of Japan.

The shift has alarmed experts, who blame global warming.

Working with Pavel Tishchenko of the Russian Pacific Oceanological Institute in Vladivostok, Lee and his colleague Geun-Ha Park used a cruise on the Professor Gagarinskiy, a Russian research vessel, last May to take seawater samples from 24 sites across the Sea of Japan.

They compared the dissolved CO2 in the seawater with similar samples collected in 1992 and 1999. The results showed the amount of CO2 absorbed during 1999 to 2007 was half the level recorded from 1992 to 1999.

Sure it's all natural: so were the 8 degree C warmer temperatures the last time the CO2 was in the atmosphere.
Fair Game wrote:

Average global temperatures in the Early Carboniferous Period were hot- approximately 20° C (68° F). However, cooling during the Middle Carboniferous reduced average global temperatures to about 12° C (54° F). As shown on the chart below, this is comparable to the average global temperature on Earth today!
Similarly, atmospheric concentrations of carbon dioxide (CO2) in the Early Carboniferous Period were approximately 1500 ppm (parts per million), but by the Middle Carboniferous had declined to about 350 ppm -- comparable to average CO2 concentrations today!

I admit to my own words, not Chris' reading comprehension.

I've asked what's the most compelling experiment you've found for climate change mitigation a thousand times. I've asked for an experiment that shows man can change global climate to the smallest measurable degree. So far, nothing.

Sure, Chris posts other experiments, to plant and reef growth and CO2. Turns out, plants and reefs need CO2 to survive.

Don't blow a blood vessel, take a breath and calm down. Maybe try rereading something you don't understand.
