Is it bad that I laughed loudly at this? LOL The mom probably did more damage by leaving her child than your holiday display could ever do. I would like to be your neighbor, imagine the display we could put together.
It was fun though, and the neighbors all chipped in to help pay for everything. I would shop the sales all year getting ready for the party, especially right after the holidays to get decorations and prizes (I gave away a lot of cool toys, we made sure there was one for every kid). Everybody brought a dish to pass, and I like cooking anyway so I served several dishes. I also made an alcohol version and a non alcohol version of green grog.

Such fun. Now all the kids have grown up and most of us have moved away.
Don't worry I laugh hard every time I tell that story. I see that girl every now and then, she stay away from me. lol
Your party sounds like a real good time. If my kids were younger, i'd do that. I'm going to have to try the green gog. lol

Good Morning Everyone!! It's FRIDAY! YAY!

The weather is starting to cool down here. I am sitting here this morning on the pool deck, having my coffee. I finally turned off my a/c and opened up the back sliders doors and all the windows. Right now it's 70 degrees. Nice breeze going through the house.

I will have to close things up again later and turn the a/c back on. It's going up to 84 later. Tonight it drops down to 69. Great sleeping weather! Open all the windows! This is what we Floridians call the free months. We don't have to pay for electricity to run our a/c.

<quoted text>Well, your wife has one up on me. I can't carve a pumpkin to save my life! Sounds like your boys do have a great mother! Father too! I miss the days of taking the kids trick or treating. Cherish every single moment with your boys. They grow so fast.
All of the work happens just days before Halloween. The walls go up just the night before. Then Halloween morning, we are out there at 4 am setting up. Usually we finish right before dinner time. Then Halloween night,it all comes down and is put away. I am the one who puts it all up into the attic. I'm the only one that fits up there. lol (or so, hubby says) It's funny, we spend an entire day setting up and it only takes a few hours to take down. The royal pain in the butt is taking out all the batteries! All the while things are still screaming at you. lol
We are growing tired of it, but the neighborhood kids have already biked past the house and are asking about Halloween. They look forward to it. I've seen some kids grow up and actually come back with their girlfriends to show them. They all say "Halloween, isn't Halloween unless they were at our house". Makes us feel good. We know the kids appreciate it. And that's all that counts.
Aw thanks.

Thatís awesome. I wish I could trade my crazy next door neighbors for you guys. Itís like living next to the weirdos from the move ďthe burbs.Ē

I spent a year in Florida while we were traveling. It was great, except for the gators and the humidity. I got to spend 2 months right on the Gulf in St. Georges Sound. That was the best! I could walk my dogs right on the beach. They didn't tell me about the bears and alligators till we were leaving though. Somehow I missed the sign warning about the bears for the entire 2 months. Ignorance really is bliss.

Our weather finally broke too, thank goodness. It's only 72 today, although Sunday will be back in the 80's. Absolutely perfect!

Is that all? It's still strange not to have snow and cold for Christmas. I like it though!
