.. warning signs? When you go to the grocery store and bread is suddenly $10 @ loaf, it's here ..

Hi Happy! Not sure what will happen to Wonder bread, sad that, but we take advantage of buy one, get one, and that equates to about $2 a loaf in CT.

There was a big bacon scare recently. Did the price increase... yes, but not the availability.

I would be much more worried about bread lines. Read about them. Bad, very very bad news.

So the male consensus continues to be "boys will be boys" but the girls who do the same thing are "sluts"?
He's been married for 37 years!!! For heaven's sake doesn't he have ANY impulse control or good judgement. Just what I want for the director of the CIA someone with no impulse control who lacks judgement! Yes!
Lol I must be honest. We were kind of tongue in cheek there.

Double Fine does not call anybody a "slut". Reason why is obvious: If they are "sluts", Double Fine is a "megaslut". Oh, certainly, Double Fine did do some growing up, but did lay with many a pretty lass.

I bring nothing that would even be considered close to scintillating, let alone intellectual exchanges, but I am typically kind and caring. Hope those attributes are enough to allow me unfettered and unchallenged access to this thread.
:-)
P.S. Susan can vouch for my character.

Is the antivirus in human trials yet. It sounds quite promising.
As for space travel. I think that until humanity is really crowded and has completely polluted this planet, it won't be happening. I really hope I'm wrong.
Problem is with cost.

Currently, it costs a billion USD to send one kilogram into space.

Why? Firstly, because to escape earth's gravitational pull, one needs speed (quite a lot of it) and pin point accuracy; if you hit the atmosphere at to straight an angle, you will simply disintegrate.

Now, speed has its own pitfalls: Everything heats up, expands, and one little thing, like say one little ring fails to seal, and the whole thing can blow up. That implies that the manufacturing process should be at a near perfect level.

Also, big speed needs big engines. Bigger means more people need to work on it. Then, that is ONLY the craft. That is not yet the life support systems or the on board computers. As I mentioned before, the level of reliability and endurance needs to be at the supergeek level. NOTHING MAY FAIL. This implies, you needs hundreds of the best designers, engineers, technicians, program managers, etc.

The cost is simply staggering. How can we bring the cost down? Simple. The biggest concerns are safety and operational requirements, due to the high velocities involved. Find a way to reduce velocity, and we won't need all the elaborate supergeek engineering. How do we reduce velocity? That is a harder question. Fossil fuel combustion engines are inefficient, complex and downright dangerous, but currently they are our only option to take us into space.

Sorry not for me, I can’t stand supermarket shopping (That’s my Friday evenings)

Bought some bottled water last Friday. On the label it claims “Filtered through the French alps for thousands of years”

Underneath that description is a sell by date of 2014.

Why?

Top of the morning all!

Thank you, Double Fine. <3

ChristineM, interesting question. I wonder if the container might eventually harm the contents?

Is it even possible?
