Okay, farm stories. One winter when my dad was driving his Ford LTD station wagon home he got stuck in our driveway, it was a half mile long. He was worried about finding it the next day and pulled the car radio antenna all the way up. He was right to do so. The next day there was no sign of the car. No hump, no lump, just one giant snowdrift. It had to be dug out by hand before a neighbor with a giant snowblower that could be attached to the front of his tractor could clear our driveway.
That is some deep snow. We never had snow blowers. We had tractors with front buckets on them that would push snow out of the way getting as close as possible to the car and a shovel cleared the rest. I don't ever recall any of are cars getting completely buried, but they would have drifts completely up and over one side of them.

Dude to make my point of my comments on here. I think it is funny that someone turned it all around and blamed all evil on evolution. Most blame the Christians, God and the Bible for they quote stoning, rape, murder etc etc all the time from the bible. What this person did was to remove God, religion and the bible and lay the blame all on evolution of man. You have to admit it caught a lot of people off guard. I think it was a good trick. I should have thought of it lol.

Your beliefs are irrelevant.
replaytime wrote:
Religion as well has some good in it.
Sure, be nice to thy fellow man, blah blah blah. So some good some bad. Fundies however don't think there is a difference. They say it's all good.
replaytime wrote:
No one talks about that though.
On the contrary, I know Kong has pointed it out on more than one occasion. We have one or two who consider themselves theists who are also long-time mean old evo's. You're a noob so you are unaware of this and only like to concentrate on how "mean" we are to fundies anyway while ignoring what big fat liars they are.
replaytime wrote:
So why the hypocrisy about the bible and religion. That stone can be thrown both ways.
Except it can't. God made evil according to scripture. If that god does not exist then evil is merely a choice made by humans, and not all humans decide to be evil. Evolution on the other hand is merely a process. Like gravity. It is no more "evil" than gravity is.

So the problem is that if the fundie position is correct, God created all good and bad. God also does things which most sane people would consider abhorrent if a human did it. But fundies call ALL of it good because they don't consider there to be any difference. Non-fundies claim there IS a difference because they don't think that simply following a set of immutable instructions constitutes as morality.

What they are doing is blaming the Christians for doing these evil things because they never bothered to critically analyse their beliefs or didn't care to as their beliefs were used to justify their prejudices.

Not really a good trick, as we've seen it a million times over. Then he messed it up at the end by invoking God again, and thus refuting his own premise. Just as you said non-believers can't blame God if they don't think it exists, he can't blame evolution when he doesn't think it exists either.

I'm sure he was impressed with himself though.

until this year, we had 8 miles of forest service road to plow to get to our winter home...a neighbor helped halway, then split off towards his lake...

finally, there are enough year round residents here or people that use their cabins in the winter that the county will take over the plowing. the other people didn't like our plowing as we didn't even think of starting until we had at least 6", and then only if there was more snow coming.

yeah, i've ditched the truck trying to keep the road open during one of our two feet overnight storms, walked home and in the morning took the back up truck or blower truck out and you could not tell where the stuck 3/4 ton was if I didn't remember it clearly... just a huge drift.

man, i love winter!

Isn't it a bummer that I can argue a lot of those issues are derived from religion? These problems you mentioned mostly arise as a result of human imperfections, societal pressure, and class struggle. And thank you, I will have an AWESOME day!!

Thanks for clearing that up
So, just for my general understanding. Are you saying that the evil stems from the IDEA of evolution, or are you saying that without evolution there would be no complex organisms and therefore no one to commit evil acts?
