So I take it that you have objectively declared that abortion is wrong.
Hahah a tough one.

Is a simple blastosphere a human that can experience suffering? No. What about a second trimester fetus? Possibly.
A late term abortion. Most likely.

Frankly, its a tough one. Doctors draw the line at viability - once its viable outside the womb, its human. Not very philosophical, but practical.

I am definitely not comfortable with the concept of abortion for convenience.

And let's get something straight...EVERYONE has a religion. The notion that atheists are free of religion is a fallacy. A religion does not require a belief in God. It is, put simply, a philosophical worldview of man and his relationship to the universe.
Would you consider Buddhism a religion? Buddhism doesn't accept a God.
While you have a point, if you stretch the definition of religion too far, it becomes meaningless.

I regard religion as requiring a faith based component. By that definition neither rational skepticism nor (some forms of) Buddhism are religions. Some forms of Buddhism are.

Now that might just be the way I see things but it least it gives a meaningful boundary to the word religion, making it useful to talk about religious versus non religious opinions. i.e. faith based versus empirically evidenced truth.

Dawkins just plugged Krauss's Universe From Nothing BS on CSPAN. What an ass, especially since he also admitted he doesn't understand physics.

It is "human" at all stages of its development whether you like to admit it or not. It never stops "being" human even if it dies.

Do you understand the physics of cosmology?

Do you understand the quantum physics?

Do you understand any physics at all?

Hell no but of course that does not stop you from grouching about someone you donít likeís ďadmittedĒ lack of knowledge in an area that you are clueless about.

But I guess you are fine with the bronze age myth that a god did it from nothing. This of course is a point that godbots always seem to deliberately forget for some reason, read the babble then look up the meaning of void.

Dawkins is an ethologist and an evolutionary biologist not a physicist. Why do you expect that he understands the physics of cosmology and what is after all what specialist science has only had the mathematics to allow discussion for the last couple of years?

And why should that stop him from enjoying a book?

P.S. I have read the book, unlike you who hasnít (yet still manages to plug it Ė who said that any advertising is good advertising?) and it is a good read, interesting and well written, a book that builds on know facts, experimental observations, mathematics and several current theories. When you consider the dry subject matter that is a miracle of authorship.

There ya go, thatís my plug too, no doubt a bit more objective than yours

Dawkins cited an unproven hypothesis by a biased Krauss to support his beliefs, that was dishonest, to say the least. He tried to manipulate the minds of politicians who, as a majority, know nothing of physics and likely don't even know how to change a tire.
Using something that isn't proven as proof "should" be below a real scientist, but science was not what he was pushing at our capitol, ideology was. Krauss has not proven that the universe came from nothing. Dawkins is pathetic using a fantasy to support his views.

I'll be educating those politicians who wasted their time listening to his lies. I'm sure they'll be amused to learn that a so-called scientist like Krauss is a deliberate liar for "nothingness".

He, just like you is entitled to his opinion, that my dear little fool is the entire concept of freedom of expression that you seem to love so much only when applied to people who think like yourself. And most certainly not when applied to anyone who is as limited in their thinking and outlook as you are.

Ahh, you mean as proven as goddidit by magic and advertised regularly and very often by preachers and godbots? Wow you really are such a hypocrite

He recommended a book, nothing more, so have I. Just because your are too ignorant to read it or understand the contents before commenting on it is no ones problem but your own. Neither Krauss nor Dawkins has said the book contains proof, the only person I know of claiming proof is you, and you are clueless anyway so donít really count. However what Krauss did say that his view is based on one or more of the several theories that are at least mathematically proven to be possible and on falsifiable, observable and repeatable scientific experiment, as much science is. Unlike your goddidt by magic idea which isnít.

So called? BScís in mathematics and physics and PhD in physics gives him every entitlement to write what to fook he wantís with an authority that you could only dream about.

By the way, there are several different theories that can be mathematically proven that the universe came nothing.

Dick Dawkins, the most renowned high priest of Darwin, has let his guard down and is now openly promoting his amoral atheistic worldview.
Yet another profound moral guidepost that we can glean from a belief in the creed of evolution.

Perhaps you would like to join the ranks of PolPot, Stalin and Mao TseTung as a believer in atheistic evolution.
Well, because you ARE a stereotypical religious bigot.(shrug)

And since Polpot, Stalin and Mao do not abide, obviously I am nothing like them.

Pot spent 8 years at a catholic boarding school. You know how sick in the head and perverted those priests can be. Did such education influence his later life.

Stalin not only studied as a priest, after his position was confirmed he set about rebuilding the christian church and its institutions. The fact that the Russian orthodox church/christianity is so strong in Russia today is directly the result of Stalinís efforts. Surely not the act of an atheist that good, honest and completely unbiased christians make him out to be.
