For the record. Scientist now think there is an average of three planets for every star. 100 billion stars in the Milky Way alone. They also believe there are 7 places in the solar system that have or has had life on them.

Announcement to all atheists. Chances of life as we know it on Kepler 22b are zero. There are 101 reasons why.

Just take its size i.e. 2.4x that of the earth. This makes its gravitational pull incompatible with life. Here’s how:

(a) Earth’s gravitational pull is just strong enough to keep H2O vapour (molar mass 18) in the lower atmosphere i.e. biosphere but weak enough for toxic NH3 (mass 17) to float above the biosphere. A planet 2.4x the size of the earth would have all that toxic NH3 where organisms are supposed to live.

(b) A massive gravitational pull would require large animal’s bones to be so heavy they’d overload the cardio-vascular system.

A & B above assume that Kepler 22b, apart from its size is earth-like. It’s nothing of the sort. No-one knows if it’s rocky & it may in fact be gaseous. And I wouldn’t put any stock in its orbit being in the habitable zone. Our moon is in the habitable zone!

To believe there's life on Kepler 22b requires faith 2.4x stronger than faith in God. He did not create the earth in vain or experiment with Kepler 22bs. He made Earth unique and for us to live on.

Am I one of those FUNDIEs? You bet.

You *could* even be right in this case. You're still wrong about the moon-landing conspiracy though.

But since its got an entire universe to play with it could easily make other planets unique for other lifeforms to live on. But first, can you provide objective scientific evidence that this invisible Jewish wizard of yours actually exists?

Not in the years we've known ya.(shrug)

New Heavens and Earth
Isaiah 65:17
17For, behold, I create new heavens and a new earth: and the former shall not be remembered, nor come into mind. 18But be you glad and rejoice for ever in that which I create: for, behold, I create Jerusalem a rejoicing, and her people a joy. 19And I will rejoice in Jerusalem, and joy in my people: and the voice of weeping shall be no more heard in her, nor the voice of crying.…

2 Peter 3:13 But in keeping with his promise we are looking forward to a new heaven and a new earth, where righteousness dwells.

Revelation 21:1 Then I saw "a new heaven and a new earth," for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away, and there was no longer any sea.
