What does the discovery have to do with religion?

Life on other planets. Man may not be so special.

Agree. If the fundies ever accept the fact that Earth is probably "one in a trillion" life-supporting planets in the cosmos, perhaps humility will start to kick in.

We have some very big IFs here. Yes they have located a body revolving around a star that is a central body of the system like our sun. The facts are unknown as yet concerning the star and its energy reactions and if the temperature it produces would be conducive to producing photosynthesis. The very many complex systems that need to work together to produce what we have here on earth probably do not occur anywhere else. Future science on this will be interesting to watch.

Well...smartass... I don't recall the bible ever saying that life was exclusive to Earth. Does it?

Shades of Dune, dude! I found a verse where Jesus claims, "...other sheep I have, which are not of this fold: them also I must bring." Wun't you just crap yourself if it turned out that Jesus was hanging out on some luxurious, casino/resort-like Planet X, saving crab people?

Just because they "might" support some kind of life doesn't mean any of them would be suitable for human life.

Don't believe in your "fundie christian" Jesus, so ... I'm not worried.

Won't you crap yourself when you finally learn that your whole bronze age, "literal and inerant" goat-herder FAIRY TALE is all a lie?

If not then I stand corrected. There is only one person who posts with the facial movements in parentheses. It had a few names. Some now banned. Virginia was one.
