Should evolution be taught in high school?

There are 178695 comments on the www.scientificblogging.com story from Feb 24, 2008, titled Should evolution be taught in high school?. In it, www.scientificblogging.com reports that:

Microbiologist Carl Woese is well known as an iconoclast. At 79 years of age, Woese is still shaking things up. Most recently, he stated in an interview with Wired that...

"My feeling is that evolution shouldn't be taught at the lower grades. You don't teach quantum mechanics in the grade schools. One has to be quite educated to work with these concepts; what they pass on as evolution in high schools is nothing but repetitious tripe that teachers don't understand."

Why do you think so many people with symptoms like yours are nuts and you are the lucky one who happens to believe the truth?

What part of this is supposed to make us think you haven't had some sort of brain injury?

Buddha as he did not really want followers.

Jesus was okay before Paul gave him a (Pharisee/stoic) makeover.

I could literally write a book about that. It would take months, 16 hours a day, non stop chatter. Just briefly, the 3 wise men, the drummer boy, the star in the east with the kings visiting, the flying roll, the birth of Emanuel, the voice from heaven, the "betrayal" for 30 pieces of silver (quarters), the "crucifixion", the conversations with Gabrielle and Rabbi Snitzer, my cat Cornus, just to name a few. The movie "Desperately seeking Susan" was about me made in 1985 and if you google "desperately seeking Susan B Lange" on a yahoo page you will find it listed. I ended the cold war and got the Jews out of Russia. I also don't think I'm lucky, I've been physically tortured and I'm going to be killed.

That is certainly interesting. Sounds like a lot of events have conspired to convince you.

Still, others have just as much proof. One of the Jesus's I knew had all sorts of collected documents, people attesting to his powers, had correspondence from Anton VaVey, and had a number of signs that testified to who he was. He also just happened to have a mental illness.

A lot of false messiahs have had followers but that doesn't prove anything. It also doesn't matter if they work "miracles", anybody can learn sorcery, like Jesus did. I've also seen Chris Angel literally walk on water. Everybody that thinks like I do has a mental illness. Ps. 38:7 "For my loins are filled with a loathsome disease and there is no soundness in my flesh"

Cross Angel never really walked on water. In fact, he disdains anybody who claims to have magical powers as frauds and charlatans.

I saw Ric Okasec walk on water in a music video.

I saw David Copperfield walk through the Great Wall of China.

I saw the Amazing Jonathan drink Windex and swallow razor blades that he strung on a thread while they were in his stomach.

Magicians also aren't really pulling coins out of your ear.

That is not entirely true. A person may recover from schizophreniform yet still believe in the experience that they had. The same also happens sometimes with heavy drug users. If the hallucinations are still happening that would be a different matter completely.
TLE is another possibility.

What you guys don't get: they are ALL false Messiahs.

There are no Messiahs. There is no hotline to God.

We are grown ups now, on our own, responsible for making decisions.

Why can't you people grow up?
