Should evolution be taught in high school?

Feb 24, 2008 | Posted by: Cash | Full story: www.scientificblogging.com

Microbiologist Carl Woese is well known as an iconoclast. At 79 years of age, Woese is still shaking things up. Most recently, he stated in an interview with Wired that...

"My feeling is that evolution shouldn't be taught at the lower grades. You don't teach quantum mechanics in the grade schools. One has to be quite educated to work with these concepts; what they pass on as evolution in high schools is nothing but repetitious tripe that teachers don't understand."

Uh, yes, every Bible I've ever owned had an outline for reading through it in one year. Most churches schedule both Bible study and sermons this way. It is VERY common. Google "Read the Bible in a year" Dummy.

None of the churches I have ever attended or given sermons at have done it this way.

Bible study, sure. And certainly the bible has been broken down to read in a year. That is very common in my experience.

You mean Satan's lies?

As do you. Frequently.

Seriously, that appears to be a Christian invention. Jews do not believe this. The first verse where Satan is identified to be a liar is John 8:44 (that is in the order the books are found in the bible, not necessarily in chronological order).

One of the reason for Satan getting a bad rap is that he became associated with the serpent in the garden and with the devil. Both are post ipso facto associations. Further he is related in pseudepigraphic literature as being a fallen angel.

Hell is also a Christian invention.

Absolutely! I am a wretched piece of garbage and only pray that Jesus Christ will save me. That is my hope. I trust only Him.

At least your opinion of yourself agrees with our opinion of you.

Ah we'll, you have your "evidence", I have mine...

I have actual evidence. You have opinions and beliefs that have been fed to you.

Well, you named him when we discussed classical guitar so I thought you might be interested to learn more about him.

As I stated at that time, I am well aware of this faith in God. Many of his recordings are of pieces. Jesu, Joy Of Man's Desiring is one of my favorite recordings from him.

Lol. They think the Bible is a novel that can be read in a day. I think this is why they compare to Harry Potter, et al.
Athitards are funny.

RiversideRedneck, stop trying to make Athitard happen! It's not going to happen!

I was a "minister-in-training " at an independent church. Only lasted maybe 6 months. I gave one sermon. I did not prepare a sermon, I just "let the spirit move me". I rambled about something for about 20 minutes to a fairly packed house. It was so good that even I don't remember it.

LMMFAO!!! All y'all boast about is Christianity. Every once in a while, someone brings up Zeus or Hanan Pacha or something. But your focus seems to be on God.

Particular, huh?
In a predominantly Christian country, shouldn't that be expected? Wouldn't you expect atheists in the Middle East to be discussing Allah and the Koran with their Muslim neighbors? Are you retarded? I mean it. You're, like, aggressively stupid. Have you met marksman11 yet?

I don't remember Rush ever claiming divine inspiration.

Of course you know that Mozart and Bach and...... were Roman Catholic.

And many musicians and composers are Jewish....

Describe this event. Then, explain how it couldn't be hallucination or delusion.

If your God touches you, your God is detectable, and thus within the realm of scientific inquiry. Your God can, therefore, be demonstrated. Just show us the evidence. Evidence nobody else can observe is not evidence. Good luck.
