Should evolution be taught in high school?

There are 178616 comments on the www.scientificblogging.com story from Feb 24, 2008, titled Should evolution be taught in high school?. In it, www.scientificblogging.com reports that:

Microbiologist Carl Woese is well known as an iconoclast. At 79 years of age, Woese is still shaking things up. Most recently, he stated in an interview with Wired that...

"My feeling is that evolution shouldn't be taught at the lower grades. You don't teach quantum mechanics in the grade schools. One has to be quite educated to work with these concepts; what they pass on as evolution in high schools is nothing but repetitious tripe that teachers don't understand."

So you say.
Change of subject.

Have you read, Not Without Hope by Nick Schuyler, of the 4 that went out fishing and flipped their boat in the gulf?(A local story for you)

Describe this event. Then, explain how it couldn't be hallucination or delusion.

If your God touches you, your God is detectable, and thus within the realm of scientific inquiry. Your God can, therefore, be demonstrated. Just show us the evidence. Evidence nobody else can observe is not evidence. Good luck.

I do know the story (in my front yard) and I do know of the criticism of the book but, no, I haven't read it. 70 some miles off shore in a small, single engine boat, right? I've sailed the gulf and in some pretty impressive storms. They exhibited the height of stupidity.

So what's your point, Urb. That god didn't drown them all? Nick was saved?

I don't remember Rush ever claiming divine inspiration.
Of course you know that Mozart and Bach and...... were Roman Catholic.
And many musicians and composers are Jewish....
Oh, so Rush, basicaly a fly by night high school band, is better than Bach? Are you serious?

Of course. You have evidence....

Everyone with an opinion thinks that, you know.

Why don't you try asking? Maybe you'll receive something.

Zeus was cool in the movie "Thor".

Do wad Thor, but he was cooler in Avengers.

Ra was strange but still cool in Stargate.

My mom kicked my ass for throwing spaghetti.

No, nothing like that. Calm down. I just started reading the book and wondered if you were familar with the incident.

It is hard to believe they all agreed to save $200 rope/anchor and tie to the stern and gun the engine. It is excellent info on hypothermia and low body fat athletes though!

In a predominantly Christian country, shouldn't that be expected? Wouldn't you expect atheists in the Middle East to be discussing Allah and the Koran with their Muslim neighbors? Are you retarded? I mean it. You're, like, aggressively stupid. Have you met marksman11 yet?

LMAO! Yes, sir!
If your God touches you, your God is detectable, and thus within the realm of scientific inquiry.

Why? Because you say so. Scientific inquiry can't prove that I love my wife.....
Your God can, therefore, be demonstrated.[QUOTE]

Your logic is flawed.

How can I? Stupid. It wads feeling. How can I prove that to you? Have you shaken someone's hand before? Remember that feeling? Now prove it.

And the almost innumerable people who have drown in similar circumstances were all atheists, obviously.

Quite familiar.

True. No blubber.

Anyone with a lick of sense - and knows anything about boats - would NEVER try to release an anchor with it tied to the stern. The transom is the lowest part of a outboard boat due to the cutout from the motor. Great way to swamp or capsize a boat. You tie it to the bow, move over the anchor and try to pull it straight up. Or cut it loose.

Shouldn't been tied to the stern in the first place. Puts your butt into the wind and the waves.

And you don't go 70 mikes out with one motor and no beacon!

Damn shame. Young and stupid.
