It is far, far better to believe in God and Creation than it is to believe that science has proven that God doesn't exist and Creation was by mere chance. Belief that Creation was by mere chance is to believe in a fool's view of the Universe.
Not aware of any science that claims that. It sure does sound like your typical creationist caricature though.

Pascal's Wager is a false dichotomy. While admitting there is no way to know, it presents only two possibilities. A god who torments all who don't believe in the buy-bull's god, or extinction.
But what if god only lets atheists into heaven because he can't stand sycophants?
Bingo.

Have you read the book of Mormon? Christians should all want to know more about Jesus and his teachings, as well as the teachings of God as revealed to the prophet Joseph Smith.

Hey, Mormon, think my skin color is a curse from god for evil I did in the per-existence?

I would point out that the LDS has changed their position, but they never have apologized for being in the wrong in the psst.

I have talked with "Saints" and they will come up with all sorts of rationalizations, but none of them hold water.

So, are they saying that teaching was a lie?

joseph Smith is a pedophile, adulterer and blasphemer...and shameless. God endedthe bible with revelation read the last two verses, anything after is doctrine of men and or lucifer. Joseph Smith was visited by an angel of light as mohammed, the bible says....''even satan can transform into an angel of light'' Joseph Smith claimed to do more for the church than Jesus....repent mormon, Satan guises himself in your golden book of mormonism, melt the gold down and feed the poor. God bless.

No, not even close. They are claiming it was for the blacks' own good. Don't ask me to defend there nonsense. I was just reproting what I heard. The one guy I argued with said that the continued ban was due to the "conditions in Africa". Why that meant there could not be black ministers in other continents he never really explained.

I have to do some Google searching but I do believe that they finally changed due to pressure from the U.S. government on their tax exempt status. Not due to new enlightenment that came from their leaders.

Yup, money talks and bullshit walks. In early 1978 the U.S. Department of Justice under Jimmy Carter threatened to take away the LDS 501c status.

Praise the Lord and pass the ammunition! Blacks aren't cursed after all!!

yuk yuk yuk...really man? You thought this was gonna be a funny and clever attack? And you called me an ignoramus? Look how slanderous and hateful you are, you and your atheist ilk are just a testiment to how the word of god cuts like a sword. Next!

I was up in Canada for a TV shoot and the hotel I was staying in had both the regular Gideon bible and a book of mormon.

I always check because I autograph the Bibles.

Anyway, I hadn't ever read any of the book of mormon, so I cracked it open.

In one half of one page, I came across the world "Behold" seven times.

It's one of those "bible-y" words that doesn't really get a lot of play in the real world but sounds like something in the Bible.

The thing is, the Bible barely has any "beholds" in it. The BoM uses "behold" the way teenagers use "like".

It feels very "Fan Fiction" when you compare the two.

It was pretty amusing. Your god is no better than the 100's of other god and goddesses out there. Yours has a bigger P.R. budget.

I'm don't think you are defending their teachings.:)
I'm just curious as to what they now claim.
Their not allowing black ministers is one thing. And I can see how they can wiggle their way around changing that policy.
But they claim black people are cursed by god with black skin because of evil done in the "pre-existence". Do they still teach that? If not, was the teaching a lie? Did god stop cursing people with black skin?
Whatever they say will be total BS. I'm just curious.

The buy-bull testifies that the earth is flat. The only way that cut's like a sword is by causing you pain from laughing.

I don't know what they currently teach is the reason for race. I had not come across the evidence that it was the Justice Department that caused the change when I was trying to understand the claims of the LDS. He tried to claim it was to protect black people since there was opposition against churches with black leaders in Africa at the time. I called BS on that and that was about where the discussion ended. Next time I argue with a Mormon I will no a bit more so they won't be able to wiggle around as much.

The mormons now claim the black community have done "their good works" so now they have the ability to become rightgeous, and "pure" which at one time literally meant white. Though the use of the word white in the book of mormon has now been changed in new editions to the word pure.
