<quoted text>The only law cited in T.F.'s 'history' is this:
When a man marries and is about to offer himself to men in womanly fashion [quum vir nubit in feminam viris porrecturam], what does he wish, when sex has lost all its significance; when the crime is one which it is not profitable to know; when Venus is changed to another form; when love is sought and not found? We order the statutes to arise, the laws to be armed with an avenging sword, that those infamous persons who are now, or who hereafter may be, guilty may be subjected to exquisite punishment.(Theodosian Code 9.7.3)
Do you want more proof how same sex marriage harms gays most?
You do realize you're agreeing with an ancient homophobe there, who outlawed it.

BTW the "exquisite punishment" mentioned was burning @ the stake, the wood was called f@0ts.

Yes, Brian. That was a case of "tolerance".

Meanwhile, the "Christians" in this case were practicing....c'mon, you can say it....THAT'S RIGHT! "INTOLERANCE", also known as "BIGOTRY".

By the way, did you catch this little nugget in the article?

"The wedding and honeymoon industries, after all, are big business. If Florida were to join the 14 other states where same-sex marriage is legal, Mikhail Audebert, president of the Metropolitan Business Association of Orlando, figures Orange County alone could see a $40 million boost to its economy. "

So those fine "Christians" who SHOULD be sued for refusing their services (note, they were not invited to ATTEND, as you keep insisting), are missing out on their share of a HUGE chunk of money.

Perhaps they'll go out of business anyway, as they seem to be making stupid business decisions. It would serve them right.

It's all about the money, and who pays. Before, our government supported married mothers and fathers, to help them raise their children. Same sex marriage would divorce marriage from procreation and parenthood.

Why is same sex marriage bad? Because of the consequences.

The creationist mental illness will try to spread predjudice whenever and wherever it can.

Just admit you have same sex marriages, instead of hiding behind this political bullsh*t.

It all comes from your cult's dishonest nature and lack of proof of god.

It's astounding what constitutes "logic" for you.

Same-sex marriage would have NO EFFECT on heterosexual marriage, procreation or parenthood.

You seem to think that should same-sex marriage be fully accepted (and it will, it's just a matter of time), that previously heterosexual guys will suddenly start flying rainbow-colored flags and singing show tunes, while former straight women will find a need to begin riding Harleys, and hanging around lesbian bars.

News flash....

STRAIGHT PEOPLE WILL ALWAYS BE STRAIGHT, AND GAY PEOPLE WILL ALWAYS BE GAY.

NO MATTER WHAT THE LAW PROVIDES FOR THEM.

No, it's simply the lack of a legal remedy. Florida anti-discrimination law doesn't prohibit discrimination based on sexual orientation so businesses are free to discriminate against gays and deny them goods and services even though they purport to be in business to serve the general public.

Gays are motherland fathers and raise children too, Brian. They're also taxpayers and citizens. Yet that doesn't stop you from forcing them to subsidize child rearing by straight people while denying them the same legal benefits and privilege. HYPOCRITE.
Brian_G wrote:

Marriage has never been necessary for humans to procreate. Just ask the almost 50% of children currently born out of wedlock in the US, Brian. Further, allowing gays to marry has no impact on the ability of opposite sex couples to marry and raise children just like they currently do.
Brian_G wrote:

It's only bad for bigots like you, Brian, because you're denied the ability to practice discrimination against others in accordance with your irrational prejudices.

Breaking the law always has consequences, Brian. That said, there's no inherent reason why breaking the law should have an impact on one's marriage but that ultimately depends on the individuals involved and the strength of the marriage.

And pray tell what would have happened to their marriages if they'd simply obeyed the laws as the Christian new testament commands them to? You think God is going to rain down brimstone upon them simply for arranging flowers or taking pictures? Will He send a plague? Condemn them to hell for all eternity simply for obeying civil law as commanded in the new Christian testament?

How do you explain invoking sincerely held beliefs when by disobeying a direct command in the Christian new testament they prove themselves hypocrites?

Stupid sow, IF it were all about the money, a gay person could just marry someone of the opposite sex and get all of the financial benefits of marriage.

Its a mental illness. Whenever someone decides to give up on logic and facts and instead follow their imaginary will, they have given up on society and have chosen to become religious liars.

Its a choice to be decietful and hide away from showing evidence of god.

It takes hard work to be part of a cult full time - lot of lying, a lot of time sitting and talking to yourself, instead of helping others.

Lying for faith cults is a full time job. Reality reminds people of this fact, every time it challenges their cults.

The theist liar must quickly invent a lie or insult to avoid answering the question he already knows the answer to - there is no justice other than the justice men and women create for each other.

There is no god and it is childish to believe in it, especially given that science exists and has disproven its claims entirely.
