Hay Tom - where in the Bible does it say that the world is flat, has four corners, is supported by four pillars, and covered with a heavenly dome with holes for the rain to come through - Chapter - verse?<quoted text>
Nobody has ever question that.
In fact, I can give a few examples of change within the Evolutionary theory.
Darwin once thought that the whales were descended from the bear,
but further evidence indicated that whales were descended from ungulates.
In Origin of Species, Darwin postulated a Silurian explosion, because at the time, no one had found fossils any deeper than the Silurian layer.
But fossils were later found in the Cambrian layer, so there was talk of the Cambrian explosion.
And even the Cambrian explosion became passe when fossils were found even deeper than that.
In his book Mutual Aid and Mutual Comfort, Peter Kropotkin spoke of birds chirping merrily, just as Sunday school teachers do.
But Konrad Lorenz later told us that birdsongs were a warning to territorial aggressors.
Yet no matter what advances are made by science, the Bible will always say that the world is flat, has four corners, is supported by four pillars, and covered with a heavenly dome with holes for the rain to come through.
