Have you got nothing better to do? Why don't you go and watch the grass grow or look in the mirror and watch yourself?

As it seems we're both posting on here instead then it appears that neither of us currently have anything better to do then, doesn't it?

Well that's charming! Is this a Christian response? All I was doing was participating in this debate thread and providing a counterpoint to your posts. That is what debate threads are for. So why are you now complaining that someone is discussing this with you from an opposing position? If you did not want to discuss the subject then why did you bother posting in the first place?

Hmm, slight posting problem there. Let's try the corrected version:

And as already stated "God" exists as a brain-state within the human cranium. So far it has never been demonstrated to exist as anything else.

Interestingly, by the same token, atheism also exists. It is not merely an abstract concept regarding a simple lack of belief in the existence of (a) God, it actually exists. Also as a brain-state within the human cranium. Therefore both God and atheism actually exist simultaneously.

I got some baaaad news for you: the christian god is NOT love.

But the christian god IS ego-- a massive amount of it.

This god they describe? This god is so ego-driven it cannot stand to be near any being who does not bow and scrape like a slave, praising it's horrid little name 24/7.

If those around it do not act like a slave in it's presence? It will torture them for all eternity.

That's not love.

That's narcissism. And sadism.

So you'd best try a different god, than the bible's god, if you wish to talk about love.

You posit some interesting points, here.

One I must allow to fester in the sub-conscious portions of my cranium for a time, to see what I really think about them.

:D

----------

I do often wonder, though-- let's presume that one of the various gods from which to choose, is actually a god, and not a collective figment.

And further, let's presume that the god is a classical one, who uses some form of infinite torture as "punishment" for those persons the god disapproves of, but especially on those who do not or can not make themselves believe in said god.

Now.

Since the majority of descriptions given to the majority of gods, seem to place the blame for human existence firmly in the lap/hands of the gods in question?

This brings up my point:

Why did the god create people who lack the ability to lie to themselves?

That is-- why did the god create atheists-- who do not appear to be able to lie about things for which there are no facts (faith)?

Speaking for myself, I cannot force myself to believe in a god, without seeing substantial facts and evidence showing such an unlikely being is real.

I simply do not have what it takes to lie to myself in sufficient quantities, to generate the requisite faith that is required.

So who's fault is it? Me? Or this god who made me an atheist?

Definitely the latter, as ultimately it is responsible for everything.

Why do Christian fundamentalists keep repeating this lie?

If any belief allows one to avoid personal responsibility that belief is Christianity. It seems that he is projecting his own bad behavior upon others.

Ah, but that was within the hypothetical example of a theist-borne universe.

Yes, you find it fun beating up straw-men. One day you will find the courage to overcome your imagined boogey-men.

If that is so, then ultimately who's responsible?

Well, according to the label, the Xianist-God is responsible for everything.

If that is true?

Then there is no such thing as free will-- it cannot possibly exist, in a universe that has a god as described in the bible.

And as such, no single person can be held accountable for anything-- the Xianist-god is the sole mover here.

Meaning that this god's hell is nothing more than a capricious god using infinite torture, obviously because he likes it.

That is one ugly god you've invented there.

There can be no responsibility in a universe that has a Xianst-god in it.

Apart from the god in question--who holds the >>sole<< responsibility for everything.

Sorry, but that's the way it has to be, if your bible-god is real.

God is a very general term. Zeus was a god, Thor was a god. The Flying Spaghetti Monster is God.

For this to be an anti Christian God it would have been named "Jesus was not real!!!!!!!!!!" Or if you want to throw Judaism into the mix it could have said "Yahweh is not real!!!!!!!!!!" As written the term is very general and all conclusive. Please note the OP did not even capitalize the word "god".

Allah/god/divine-being?

There is no functional difference, really.

All are equally unreal.
