7.8 Magnitude Undersea Earthquake Hits South Atlantic, No Tsunami Warnings Issued

A mighty 7.8 magnitude undersea earthquake has occurred in the Scotia Sea on Sunday, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

saw the foreshocks to this event on the NEIC earlier.

Interesting to see that it produced a large event. Al, of the foreshocks were transform events (at least the ones with a moment tensor). will be able to comment more when I get back to the NEIC reports tomorrow.
