This one was in the E. part of the Makran arc in the inner forearc area in the zone of transpression between the Makran backarc basin & the Indian Continent.
From a look @ the NEIC the moment tensor indicates transpression, with the makran side ~SW, and the Indian side ~NE.
This is a more bog standard type of quake for the Makran, typical of forearc regions worldwide involving thrust quakes in segments & transform quaked separating the segments.
The previous 7.7 quake in the Iran-Pakistan border was a rift quake resulting from the squeeze in of a deep magma filled fracture into the volcanoes in the central Makran which jacked the crust apart and caused the arc graben above the dilating magma filled fracture to fall into the gap. That quake was rather unusual in arcs worldwide, but has been one of a series in the Makran as a result of the continuing propagation of the magma filled fracture.
The mud volcano report was equally interesting with this one.
