If it was a routine traffic stop, why was the vehicle searched? I don't know about anyone else, but usually there has to be a cause for a vehicle search. That's not "routine."

exactly. I do not know about anybody else but I think that it awful funny that deputy harvy has a drug bust in almost every traffic he conducts.

Don't know what's so funny about it, it sounds if he is doing his job to me.

If there isn't "something" in your car, you shouldn't have to worry about it.

First, it's obvious you all can't read because nowhere did it say anything about being a "routine" traffic stop. The article said the car was stopped for an equipment violation.
Next, it said Sergent Clint Knight made the stop, not Harvey! Knight was assisted by Kitchens and Harvey!
Finally, if people weren't so worried about buying all of the cold pills and stealing anhydrous ammonia to make meth, then carrying it around in their car, they wouldn't have to worry about going to jail if or when they get stopped!!!

"Routine" or not, an equipment violation means they had a headlight out, or their lisence plate wasn't lighted, or a turn signal was busted, or something of that sort. This still shows absolutely NO cause for a vehicle search.

There is no mention of what caused the vehicle search, and there should be probable cause for a search. What probable cause is there when the only information gathered was that two people were on their way home from TN?

The article also changes the officer's name in the middle and never bothers to correct it.

AND. Assistance is only called in when an officer feels threatened. This was a trap, not a stop.

They did not change the officers name, it was a typo. A newspaper article is NOT a police report. When this gets into court I doubt the prosecution or defence will be useing a newspaper article for thier case. AND assistance is not only called when an officer feels threatened. It could be for any number of reasons. Before you all turn into know-it-all experts, try doing a ride-along with one of the departments in the area. You still won't Know-it-all but it may keep you from makeing such fools of yourself with your stupid comments. Good job to the officers involved and to all the officers in all the departments for continuing the fight on drugs/crime.

Okay. Then let me rephrase from how I leanred it: assistance SHOULD only be called when an officer feels threatened. It's called Appropriate Use of Force.

You dumbass, clueless, noneducated, jail house lawyers crack me up! It sounds like someone is pissed because they had to spend their welfare check money for court cost instead of drugs. I hope you have enough money left over after the court cost to pay your Internet bill so you can continue to put your valuable opinions and thoughts that you have no clue about on topix. Keep up the entertainment! P.S.- If you get bored spend some time on Google, you might sound smarter than the average imbred!
