Sanity-Now that is something unheard of here on the ole' Braidwood forum.
RESEARCH PEOPLE.
I live in a neighborhood where the crime rate is raising on the hour.
Crack, Cocaine, Marijuana, Stealing, Prostitution. And that is in West Texas people. Grow up and realize that your pretty little lives in your pretty little town is beautful and could be much worse.
Oh...
BOOM!
(that was your mind ;)

Some of the best meth you can get right now is in braidwood. Gartner has a few forclosed houses everyone goes to party at. Tin foil on every window. Dark in there 24 7. Young girls meth. Cops oblivious to the houses. Priceless!!!!

It's easier for Braidwood PD to sit on W Kennedy Rd's speedtrap and collect speeding fines on people going 4 miles over the speedlimit than to actually track down and bust drug activity in the city.

Its going to be pretty hard to teach them about drugs when Quinn and Illinois wants to legalize pot...Its all about money. As far as Braidwood goes..lets publicly embarrass residents going through hard or unhealthy times and cant fix their homes up by putting names and addresses in paper instead of putting names and addresses in the paper of people who are criminals for ANY reason!! Lets pick on people who are down already to satisfy a coward who has issues with peoples homes but wont print THEIR name in the paper but hide behind mayor Bill. There are SO many things wrong with Braidwood and in Braidwood but lets be big bullies and go after the poor or unhealthy or downtrodden...they dont have enough to worry about.Drugs are to big of a problem for the mayor to worry about.Print those names so we know who to avoid and our kids AND so we know who is buying from them as well.Part of it is my own fault...I voted for him and Eric etc. It wont happen again.

Comparing the home maintenance problem to the drug problem is ridiculous. The horror of having a loved one go through addiction cannot be pit into words you will understand. Only if you have loved someone who is addicted Will you vet it. It is not as cut and dry as some people are commenting. It is actually very hard to get help for substance abuse without insurance. Very few rehab programs have immediate openings and long waiting lists. Here is the kicker, if it is a state funded program you have to have the drugs in your system to go through central intake. So if you have been waiting 60-90 days to get in you have to get high for them to take you. It is a long hard road and most user's would rather die than go through the sickness of withdrawal from heroin. You can call the police department on your neighbors if they are dealing. Don't give up. If you see the child of someone you know at a dealers home call their parents and tell them. Ranting here will get you nowhere. The truth is that alcohol is way more dangerous than marijuana. The new gateway drug is your medicine cabinet. Kids get high off of cold medicine and prescription drugs that many people have right in their home. Don't assume your kids or their friends won't take your pain meds, muscle relaxes, or anti depressants because they will. They also sell for as high as $5-$10 dollars a pill on the street. Taking the high road and making statements that make addiction sound cut and dry just makes you seem uninformed on the subject. There is no easy answer. Take action, especially if there is a tenant selling drugs. Find out who the landlord is and inform them. You can all make a difference if you try. There is a coalition that formed in Braidwood. Go to the meetings and get educated. Especially if you have young children. Be ready for their teen years. Never, ever give up if there is a dealer in your neighborhood. If the police don't listen, go to the town meeting with neighbors, you can contact Judge Raymond Nash, he speaks openly in Braidwood court every month about heroin. If you write him, he will help.

OH MY GOD YES! DRUGS. ARE. EVERYWHERE!get off of it people. like somebody said up there, you've gotta educate your kids send them out smart enough to know something. You can't keep your kids ignorant to drugs because when they get around them, they're going to be curious. and we all know what curiosity did to the cat.. Ignorance is bliss. but knowledge is power. i'm not saying to indulge them in a drugs because god knows that's what some of you guys are going to pull out of this. I'm saying sit down, talk, and be real. The police aren't to blame. they didn't force these fucking junkies to get strung out and sell to little kids. They chose to them selves. yeah speed trapping doesn't help but would you wana help people that come on here and shittalk you? I didn't think so. Lay off em.
