I don't have personal experience of their drug programme but have met a couple of ppl who have some By all accounts it is very successful & the sustaining (not going back on drugs) rate is pretty high too.....which is more than can be said for a lot of drug programmes given (tho NA has a good rep too)

A cult for the rich.

True story, not one word of BS.

In the 80's Piggy was a muscle car guy. I bought whatever was the top American car of the year. 1989, new Vet. Piggy drove down to the "News Stand" on Connecticut Avenue to get the latest Car and Driver early Sunday morning, after being up all night.

Got out of my car and headed inside the, "News Room". A real hot chick stepped in front of me and asked if I wanted to go to a movie. I said,"YES". We went around the corner and she walked up to the door of the Scientology headquarters. Went in the front door and Piggy figured out what was going on. BUT, I'm still thinking I can bang this chick, Oink Oink.

I was a good looking dude back then and I thought I could flip this con game in my favor. I was wrong. My brilliant idea was let's go catch a buzz in my car before the movie. I had powder and weed in my ride.

She wouldn't go to my car. I left the cult building after being shot down. Thinking back on it. I could have saw the movie, joined and be Tom's best friend.

Does anyone remember the "News Stand"? It's gone now or moved. Does anyone here even buy Magazines or news papers? I get all that online now.

I'd ask you for correct statistics about your glowing account of narCONon, but all you would come back with are deceitful manipulations of numbers the CULT of Scientology/narCON themselves create.
NarCONon is KILLING our children and at least infecting survivors with Scientology hogwash.

Hi Scientologist! Glad to have you show up. Yes, Narconon is "very successful" as long as you only look at its press releases and ignore its REAL statistics. When forced to divulge its real statistics, it was found that Narconon's results are MUCH worse than other programs. MUCH worse.

But more expensive.

And, to keep up the facade of "success" we'll need to ignore the alarming number of DEATHS of people under Narconon's care.

Yeah, Narconon is very successful -- in conning people.

Balderdash I'm no Scientologist
I didn't know about any deaths occurring under their programme....just happened to have (very) briefly met a couple of ppl who came with a success story of their drug programme & who claimed continuing success for a lot of addicts who had previously failed with other programmes.....I didn't start this thread...just wanted to put a view out there about their drug programme being successful; which I didn't know any different at the time

Yet, you parrot unsubstantiated claims of success just leik a scientologist. THAT is why you appear to be one.

It is your own fault you do not know about narCONon being shut down in Canada...a criminal investigation into the Oklahoma facility following multiple deaths at its flagship facility.

I suggest you maybe read some FACTS about narCONon and its deadly 'purification rundown'

You obviously have a personal gripe with scientology
I never claimed 'facts' I was merely stating an opinion, as is my right on a public discussion forum
you've provided (biased?) info so now I have more information, so thanx for that, but still there's no reason to have a go at me or anyone who joins in this or any other thread just bcuz they state an opinion...if I'd claimed to know all about it then that might be a different matter.....& take a look at other comments on this & other threads & you'll find plenty of 'factless' comments bcuz discussion is not only about sources/websites/'facts'(which can be put forward to back up any version of the truth) it's also about personal experiences & views

Kurt all sane people have a gripe with cults. Scientology and their ilk prey on the weak.

Now I gotta question for ya Kurt. Did you really kill yourself or was it Courtney's doing? Loved your music.

This is the EXCAT syntax of a scientologist. You wonder why you are being called one. If you would have said"I am not a scientologist, but" (google that phrase alone and you may just see what I am talking about)

An "opinion" was it? PULEASE!
nathanielornament wrote:

"(biased?)" you imply. Where is the bias in recent deaths attributable to the program you are parroting for?

You really should read your OP on the matter. Such an "opinion" is based on obfuscation of FACTS.
Facts leik narconon uses unscientific treatment that can cause organ failure or even DEATH. The *only* glowing accounts you'll find about narCONon are,
Testimonials that provide no substantial scientific proof. In FACT, science shows that the narCONon 'purification rundown' IS DANGEROUS. narCONon have been thrown out of far many moar schools than accepted.

Try Google "narconon banned from"
nathanielornament wrote:

Your "opinion" falls way short of an INFORMED "opinion

Get informed, then comeback, as you have landed in a subject where moar than me alone KNOW THE FACTS....and not just utterences from people that are required/commanded to write glowing reports of narCONon so as they can leave the program.

Opinions can be dangerous....as shown by how narCONon KILLING people with pseudoscience.

scientology is a criminal organization that set about to overthrow so many world governments since it started as dianetics and was rebirthed as a "religion".

These are not "opinions", they are documented FACTS.

Want so moar links, but this time to court transcripts, scientology convictions etc etc etc?

As I already said....I'd heard some accounts of ppl who'd gotten clean with the scientologists programme...they weren't friends just ppl I met on a one off.....(giving their story to a group of us, not to me personally).....now I know there's this whole dark side to it.....I really couldn't give a flying bucket enough to go researching it so I'll leave you to discuss your 'informed opinion' with yourself

I see you keep pushing the Scientology line in comment after comment. If you AREN'T a Scientologist, then you are extremely ignorant and gullible.

No intelligent person takes anecdotal "success stories" and third person "testimony" over facts. No non-Scientologist keeps pushing those "success stories" so firmly when challenged. An intelligent, non-Scientologist would research the facts and would not, after being corrected, keep repeating Scientology's bogus claims until they had checked them out.

You continued to push Scientology's bogus claims and never took the time to inspect for yourself. That is: You are acting, and reacting, exactly like a Scientologist.

Normally, who cares? However, as Narconon kills people, does not actually have a workable program, diverts people from REAL programs and lies about it all -- promoting Narconon is evil and destructive. Stop it until you have done the proper research.
