I got rear ended by a moron texting and am still going to physical therapy and may have to have surgery all because some idiotic kid thought it was more important to text than watch the road. Texting and cell phone use while driving should be treated the same way as drunk driving! It sounds like texting is the real cause of this accident not the pot although driving stoned is never a good idea!

according to local paper there was another car that almost became part of that accident too. they swerved out of the way of the d-bag when he crossed the double yellows. he's getting hit with DUI as well. investigations showed NO signs of braking before & after he hit the person. the defense argued he had no intent to kill someone..true..but he had intent to smoke up, text, & ignore the road.

They forgot to tell you he smoked 30 days ago and was not impaired. It's the cell phone texting that took the eyes off the road.

I think he was eating french fries at the time and picking a french fry off the car floorboard is not the best thing to do.

If they would only enforce the Dam laws I don't know how many times I have almost been hit or had to veer out of the way of someone on the phone or texting and driving and they give you the finger or mouth off at you for what disturbing them from breaking the law texting or talking on the phone while they should be paying attention to what they are doing on the road driving that cruis missile that change a family's life in the blink of a eye!
