The 3rd U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals has upheld the life sentence for a man convicted of flooding Erie's streets with more than 450 pounds of crack cocaine in the mid-1990s. Yep. But what made you dig up this thread? Either you were implicated and want to say goodbye before going up the river OR you're one of them chicks who write to prison guys and want to be his bride. Either way I support you unconditionally.(I also think you're an idiot either way ;O

What about the parents who died of over-doses, shooting and beating because of the drugs that were brought in by this person. I'm sure those children would love to have the parents back. The families that were/are ruined by drugs may never be reunited. Children moved into foster care, kinship, adoption, their lives turned upside down.
The related crimes of drug usage, robbery, prositution, etc. Children have no control over their parents actions, however, they must suffer the consequences. Like you, they suffered. However, you have the opportunity to see you father.
Mr. Knight go rich quick controlling an illegal empire, and got caught. He was dealt with legally.
Unfortunatly, his children became victims of his crimes.

My personal feeling is "YES" he was wrong for his actions, however how do you justify the fact that you can give a man life for selling crack.....However,you have a numerous felons (majority white) who sell powdered cocain and only gets a slap on the hand! Why is it ok to differentiate the two and they are clearly the same drug....Is it because it is the black peoples choice of drug???? It should'nt matter....where is the justice in our laws!!! There is no rehabilitation when you clearly know your going to spend the rest of your years in jail!!! It's been over 11 years and he has served his time!!!! FREE CARL KNIGHT!!!!

It's a persons CHOICE to use drugs! Nobody or nothing is every going to stop that! Carl is a non violent offender and a life sentence is not justice. It's insane! Child molesters get very little time! It's never anyone's choice to be hurt, abused, raped, molested or even killed yet their offenders get less time! How can that make sense to ANYONE?? No deaths were reported in connection with Carl. Do you really think he hasn't learn his lesson? It is time to let him come home to his children!

Give a man a life sentence for dealing drugs(a non-violent offender I may add). The man served 11 years in prison for a non-violent crime. You have people commenting saying people overdosed ect. Thats complete BS. You have a choice in deciding whether you want to get high or not.I'm not saying the man was a saint but the man has served his time. If you are going by the letter of the new laws there are no mandatory drug sentences, they are advisory now. The mandatory sentences need to be for the Child Molesters, and Rapist who prey on our community. In my closing I'll say it again we are so quick to judge a man for selling drugs but we embrace these people who are really destroying lives. Wake up people.

I really hope you don't have children if so I feel terribly sorry for them to have a parent like you who are you to talk to someone else's child that way her father was definitely given a harsh sentence and deserves another chance but his story probably hits home front for you huh I bet either you or one of your family members were a victim of drug abuse and that's why your feelings are so deep about the case well get over it CRACK HEADS CHOOSE TO BE CRACK HEADS!!!!!!

bottom line-Life without the possibility of parole is extremely harsh. I don't think he was responsible for any deaths. He received that sentence because he was Back and you know it. Why do you feel that rehabilitation is not a viable option? I believe a person should serve time for crimes-but forever in jail for something other than being a serial killer is ridiculous! I pray that Carl gets a chance to be with his family again. Erie judges are unfair when handing down sentences.Especially when it's African Americans.Thats why the jails are flooded with Blacks. You bring the drugs here-Its obvious it is to have a reason to incarcerate as many Blacks as possible. It's just another form of enslavement. And you know it.

Lighten up. I know that Carl will continue to Appeal and I know that one day some one will have a heart and see that dying in jail just for selling drugs is ridiculous

You, are a RACIST PIG!... How dare you keep blaming it on the white man. Take responsibility for yourself as an individual. Enslavement? are you stupid?... African American lmao you couldn't name a family member from Africa if you had to. Why cant you be an American? Grow up and get out of your " blame it on others" self. I agree his sentence was way outta line but don't pull the race card.

A life sentence is too long for this crime. It just is. This crime certainly deserves punishment, but we have too many people in prisons, more than in any other first world country and we seem to think that prisons help society. They don't. Felons get out, they are disassociated from their families, they can't earn a decent living, and in some places, they can't even vote. People need to be able to change and move on with their lives. If they can't change, then put them back into the system All I am saying is, what is happening isn't working.

Why did Miguel burgos only get 7years for the same charges? Carl Knight , John Cooley and others got life. Miguel Burgos was busted in a 5million dollar drug ring and he gets 7 years. Most of the people in the burgos bust are already out? Same with Operation Pill Rush,I think the worst sentence was that they got a little county time with immediate work release. The justice system is very messed up. You got people like Radames Burgos getting caught with a gun and trying to shoot someone but he told on his cousin and for a gun charge which is usually 5-10, he got like 3months in the county and let out to commit more crimes, but seriously lok at the charges same exact ones's. My question is why did Miguel burgos only get 7 years. Sh^t Jeff lecorchich was convicted of rico charges, he barely got any time either.

I am not a racist...I am a realist.I said what I meant and I meant what I said..America is a VERY racist place. That IS why so many Blacks are flooding the prisons of America. But that's a known fact...you just don't want to face reality. You are part of the majority of white folks who feel "Its all over now" and that we are all on equal ground..Thats b.S. Nothings changed at all...Especially people like you who still have delusions that America is no longer racist. This man needs to be released...If he was stupid enough to start reselling drugs Then I can see him going back to jail...but I think he has served enough time that he wouldnt
