How about an organization that would have drawn a gun on you for the crime of purchasing beer?
Clearly, adults past the age of sufferage obtaining alcohol and not going to church on Sunday warrants the death penalty, what are you thinking?

This is ridiculous. All of those agents should be fired immediately (no administrative leave pending investigation) and the young lady should sue everyone she can think of for their negligence. The fact that this embarassment happened in Charlottesville and is making national news brings shame on our community.

Jackbooted thugs! they should face serious consequences, should never be allowed to work in any law enforcement position again. And I hope ABC gets hit with a humongous suit.
If this incident is not horrific enough, what totally disgusts me is so many rightwing, GOP leaning sites have picked up on and are using to attack the Obama administration.
Didn't see the right coming to the defense of the Black Panther Party back in the 60s and 70s when it brought to the nation's attention the problem of police racism and abuse of power. Those goons in front of Harris Teeter that night certainly fir the Panthers definition of "pigs."

SOME of these 'plainclothes' ABC officers look and dress like thugs. I can see why some young girls would be afraid when suddenly confronted IF it was one of them that rushed up on them in a group. Just thank God that they didn't force this girl to go to trial on 3 felony charges just to protect the officer from being sued. Thanks to Dave Chapman and thanks to the good city/county/UVA police officers that do the right thing.
And I'm sure her attorney is overjoyed that you blabbed to an internet forum.

I guess this means that anyone looking to be/appear/resemble/act under 21 that walks out of a grocery store with what maybe/could be/ sure looks like/resembles alcohol can be stopped and searched by (a)plain clothed law enforcement at any hour or time of day.
Something doesn't make legal/constitutional sense here ...

Well, it works for BATF agents outside gun shows and gun shops. Why not ABC agents outside ABC stores?

Charlottesville Commonwealth Attorney Dave Chapman should never have stood by those officers. He is up for re-election and should be voted out of office. The system is about winning, not justice.
Those officers are arrogant, self serving people to be pulling a gun out, sliding across someone’s car hood and scaring the daylights out of those students. They are the ones needing put in jail.

When the Albemarle cop ran into the guy in the wheel chair, and then tried to cover it up by getting a city cop to right the victim a ticket for J walking, he was not fired, his boss stating that he had too much training. So training now is the substitute for integrity. Give a man a badge and say goodbye to the law. And some here wonder why I come down hard on cops. Just a matter of time before some other idiot with a badge does something stupid.

We have three college age females arriving by car and buying groceries--Call Seal Team Six, it's a GO! I have no law enforcement experience but since it's not armed robbers or gang members they're after, let me give it a try: "Excuse me, young lady, I'm law enforcement(holding up badge, not gun, and not displaying an approach of an assaulting manner), I need to talk to you about your purchases at this store. My female partner(singular) is standing over there(out of path of travel) if you would prefer to talk to her."
How's that? Be cost effective in your operation, don't create panic/flight, be realistic about fittin your tactics to the crimes involved in the investigation. If you do need six agents (in case you do encounter violent types), do you throw them all out there at once?
And of course, you continue:
"If you leave the scene, you cannot outrun the radio, and will face charges. We appreciate your cooperation..."

The famous line from Robocop, "we appreciate your cooperation" I've witnessed female cops become outright nasty to people if they think for second they're not recieving the respect they believe they deserve. Hell hath no fury as a women scourned. Give them a badge? watch out. And stay out the bushes.

I do speak for myself. You consistently bash Longo and the city police- even when, as in this case, they have nothing to do with an incident. That suggests a strong emotional component, at the very least it's irrational. "Brown shirts?" Again, a strong emotion evoking comparison. One which is laughable if a person understands about that part of Germany's history. "Weak" by the way.

whoanelly - it's the 95% making the other 5% look bad.
or maybe i should say: you can't blame all of them for something only 100% of them do.

valid comments, please let me try to respond a little.

i grew up knowing nothing of political crap.
80s i became rightwing Reagan type of person, i am a white male.
not extreme rightwing but mostly "socially moderate / fiscally conservative" type; between repubs and dems the repubs simply had more i agreed with for many years (so i thought), more on this in a sec.

in 2008 i fully understood why so many voted for obama, i didn't blame them, and i wasn't keen on mccain fwiw and i didn't know who Ron Paul was, more on that in a sec too.

in 2012 i couldn't believe after 4 years how many again voted for obama, i felt they were extremely stupid and DUPED all to hell.

then i studied, a lot:
- ndaa
- oklahoma city bombing, see move "a noble lie" for free on youtube
- a ton of evidence on 911
- TED GUNDERSON files, RESEARCH THIS! I BEG YOU!

you know what i found out:
- all the blacks who voted for obama were duped as i had suspected.
- ALL THE WHITES who voted for mccain, dubya, romney, WERE DUPED ALL TO HELL also.

WE'VE ALL been duped into oblivion. bush sr. IS A PEDO SATANIST. you think that sounds nuts? then research it for yourself, the truth has been impossible for anyone to believe because it's so FAR beyond what evil they already had suspected.

Look up the recent Infowars interviews with an original black panther Pinkney GOOD MAN, listen to him.

back when Reagan had the contra scandal it was my first glimpse into something wrong but i didn't pursue it; i failed.

the msm shutout of Ron Paul is why noone knew who he was, they are a huge part of this evil.

i'm awake now, please awaken everyone you know, the more of us that are awake the fewer who will be killed; the more who remain asleep the higher the body count will be.

the civil war is imminent, it won't be a race war - that's the evil fear mongers saying that; it will be the awake vs the evil, with the asleep in the crossfire.

arm yourself and join the rest of the awake, we want you and need you.

God bless.

So what ever happened to probable cause? This is harassment. What ever happened to our individual rights that protect us from this sort of abuse? If the girls did nothing wrong, there was absolutely no lawful reason to approach them. Its a shame, but this day and age law enforcement will trample all over your rights unless you assert them yourself... Contact the ACLU or some rights organization and sue the crap out of them!
