Perhaps had Chris Wilkinson discussed the matter with the membership and fully understood the risks associated with this "contribution" the situation could be different.

The facts that are now known show that such use violated the insurance policy of the Church. Not to mention had the bus been shot up, burned or destroyed it would have been without the consent of those paying the tariff. Not to mention such use could subject the innocent membership to retribution. The drug crowd is pretty rough.

Chris Wilkinson's divisiveness has fractured that church to the point of near shutdown. It will take a long time to recover from his "leadership".

The sad fact is the so called "leadership" Chris has shown as Mayor of Hamlin is equally disturbing. The falsifying an insurance document that Ms. Rexroad had properly submitted is but one example. Continuing to pretend to be Chief of Police when the West Virginia code does not authorize a Mayor to serve in that capacity is another. Chris is not a superior lawman, he is a joke.

It is interesting that the anon members that spoke feared retribution by this "lawman". It is not a stretch to expect that he would abuse his "position" as mayor to get even. Speaks highly for a man of God.

The bottom line is Chris is mixing his politics with religion. This is way he lost his flock and $150 a month job.

I agree, had the TV station seen the good Mayor in his "Chief of Police" Costume, they may not have been so kind! The Mayor sitting there in tie, with his Bible open is not the man strutting around town with Police across his back and looking like a bad "B" movie cop! Note the wrap around shades! He should be an embarrassment to the town, not to mention a DANGEROUS LIABILITY! His church clearly recognized he had stepped over the line by risking their property in the name of "getting the bad guys" off the street. His actions could have also caused them to loose their property, and their insurance would never have replaced! "Our church bus was shot up in a drug raid!" Really?! It is a shame the good Mayor does not have an officer in his police force qualified to be "chief". What does it take? Have a history as a reformed drug dealer and ignore the drugs right under your nose?? There are plenty that qualify for that job! Hamlin, has your apathy or decline into the drug culture become so prevalent that you would not say, " stop being a "cop wanna be" and do your job you were elected to, or do as his church has done! Resign! His church knows he can not make up your own rules and law! This man has a responsibility to his congregation as well as to the town for his actions! If you act recklessly with church property, what else will you be reckless about? I do not see the Board of Education offering their school buses as "Trojan horses" for law enforcement! Same difference! The next question I have to ask? Who was driving this church bus on this raid??? Not the good mayor???

Your response was articulate and well written. I agree.

I don't think his background supports being permitted to carry a gun. Sadly, most folks think it will pass and perhaps it will without major incident. The good folks of Hamlin don't realize that a large number of people avoid passing though Hamlin. Not because they have anything to hide, just to avoid drama.

Is it true that he offered the bus to Lincoln Co. High School to transport the suspended students off school property, or is it just a rumor.

Considering that the treasurer of the church ask him to resign because 4 of her family members have been arrested. It is a shame all she worries about is money, maybe that is how she paid for all the diamonds on her fingers, from the church fund.
