It's very sad but it's not shocking around here. When a baby is born NOT addicted to drugs in Fayette County, that is shocking.

there is not a law against this. Cps will step in and take the child but the mother is free to just leave. It has something to do with woman's rights.

I feel compassion for ALL drug addicts. It is a horrible tormenting life. However, if a pregnant woman is putting drugs in her body, there should be a place to put them to PROTECT the unborn baby. Not saying jail is the proper place but somewhere they cannot get access to any drugs other then prescription. PROTECT THE INNOCENT WHO DO NOT HAVE A VOICE.

There are probably an alarming growth of babies born with fetal alcohol syndrome in Lexington. I've heard about a lot of young pregnant women in sleazy clubs drinking lately. Disgusting.

They had an article in the courier journal about this recently and it was heartbreaking.Babies screaming and writhing in agony cause they were going through withdrawl.I feel for these nurses who have to witness that on a daily basis.

Women who knowingly use drugs and drink alcohol while they're pregnant doesn't deserve the air that they breathe. They're trash.

In an irresponsible society such as ours, what more could you expect. When people wake up and learn to start doing the opposite of what the system tells us to do, then it will only get worse.

when you ban prayer from the public, and kick the teachings of christ outta schools, when you teach a generation that do whatever makes YOU feel good, when god becomes censored, when the bible is no longer heeded, when all discipline becomes ''abuse'' then what do you expect? This generation is shameless, arrogant, selfish and wreckless, why? God was ban in 1963, no structure, no moral guidelines, no unity....this is a all for me country now and we continue to ban god, and we continue to get half hearted leaders, no accountability. Are you surprised? America is a dying country, just hold on tight for the ride. Woe woe to the inhabiants of earth, for mystery babylon has fallen in one hour, woe to those that lament het destruction for they drank from the cup of her fornications--revelation. Wanna know what our cup is filled with? Hollywood trends, money, evil technology, wrong freedoms being expressed, all countries look to us for the new trend or should i say, look to us to drink from our cup. Repent and confess jesus, he is the savior and only he will save you....the world has doomed itsself, but you can save yourself through he that died for your sins

When you start hearing people say, "stick your entitlements, I can do it on my own", then the day is at hand when things will change for the better.

Entitlements = Enslavement. And there are a lot of slaves in America. I just wish they would realize it.

who are you? The certificate of preacher's association president? I know the truth is hard to hear, I know your lazy and dont wanna follow christ's ways and you wanna waste your life watching TV and still think when you die your gonna be at peace. I know you wanna drink beer and sleep with dirty women you wanna think that its ''ok''. I know your kind mark, you hate god because he requires selflessness from the selfish and you dont wanna change. You had better, before its too late.

And taking care of these babies and their addicted mothers isnt cheap and guess who pays for it? It makes you wonder what is the answer to stop this widspread abuse of precription meds when so many find anyway they can to 'escape' when being alive is a great high.
