I mean, pain...it is bad...pill makes good. Very infantile to me. People abuse spray paint and glue, and Robitussin should those be controlled too????? Heck why not control SUGAR and COFFEE and ... why even stop.
B-I-N-G-O. It is a manufactured A-G-E-N-D-A.

It is designed to create gub'mint agencies in order to spend you tax money. Then, they claim they are out of money, ask for more!

When one gets into public records, one sees the actual fraud that is committed on a daily basis. One KNOWS why we are out of money.

Who are you going to trust here. Words of wisdom, or the talking heads in gub'mint and media?

That's up to you.

You could look at it like this... Doctors know that there about to get a lot of phone calls starting whenever . Won't doctors think to just double long time prescription holders script? That right there will cut the phone calls in half for them. Then again I didn't think about how I don't know if there is a maximum pill limit on prescriptions. Just a thought.

The doctors are already being watched for over-prescribing. I'm sure the DEA wouldn't be too happy if the doctors just circumvented the new rules.

Also, the new computer database should be up and running by the end of the year. Doctors will be less likely to give more than is necessary if they know that they're being watched.

You left out tobacco.
You can smoke yourself into a painful cancerous death and the government will applaud you.
Why? Because the tobacco companies make some of the biggest donations to politicians.
And who gets to pay for the long and costly treatment of this self-imposed disease...we do, when our insurance premiums go through the roof and the same government complains about the spiraling cost of healthcare and then empowers big corporate companies to cut their employees benefits.
Oh...but I forgot...they do put that all-important warning label on the package.
The definition of a "Schedule 1" drug:

1.The drug or other substance has a high potential for abuse.
2.The drug or other substance has no currently accepted medical use in treatment in the United States.
3.There is a lack of accepted safety for use of the drug or other substance under medical supervision.

Nicotine and alcohol fit into this catagory.
And I thought "Big Pharma" had the best lobbiests.

Welcome back, Tom.

Just in time for pitchers and catchers.

Agreed with everything you said except one little thing, alcohol works well as a pain-killer.

:o)

Bottom line...big money talks.

I totally agree the govenrment and or state should not get involved with restricting pain medication! I, for one, was in an accident which caused me to have a sp[inal fusion from S1 to T12 (so pretty much from the base of my spine to 3/4 up my back with 2 rods and screws and bolts. Shortly thereafter, the dr that performed the surgery had his license revoked for Lord knows what all. I am one who has to take hydrocodone daily if I want to have any quality of life at all. I even sut mine in half and take only 1/2 of a pill and maybe 1 1/2 pills a day! Now, all of a sudden dr's are being forced to almost cut out writing these! ARE YOU SERIOUS? Yet there are people out on the streets selling them for $5 per pill! How are they getting them? It infuriates me that the ones who need the med cant get it and the ones who dont are out selling them at $5 each and paying $1 or $2 for a whole bottle using their medicare or medicaid!

After I posted, I remembered good ol' Formula 44 cough syrup. 44% alcohol back in the day.

I got my weekend package and All-star tix. But we can talk about that in another thread. See you over in the Baseball forum

Oh my god, THIS^^^^^^^
I say the same damn thing EVERY day! I have jumped through every hoop, backward & forward for 2 years. I won't even go into the crazy cramp pain management drs try to say & do where I am, because we've had restrictions & a computer system like this for ages. I know of people that get hundreds a month & sell every one for $6-7 each! And people gobble em up. But I live in pain. Waiting for an appt w a new specialist, I finally told my dr, that's it. Can't take it. Either you give me SOMEthing or I'm going to a dr who will, don't care if he's a quack! So, he gave me 30 10/500, saying 1 every 4-6 hours but not more than 3 per day. Well, it's better than nothing. And I made it last 12 days, though I could've easily made it 5. We try another steroid shot today before surgery as a last resort. I tell her I'm out, he wanted her to handle it now but i could call him too.
She says, ok, just a few because prolonged, blah blah, less effective, blah blah. When I get to the car, I see it is 15 5/325. Wow, really?!? Even BETTER, says...1 every 10-12 hours. Acknowledging I have one of the worst cases she's ever seen, THAT is supposed to help?!? But, of course, if, no when I call back, "I" look like the issue. Do drs really believe that stuff works THAT damn well???

I know. It's like all of a sudden they make the decision for you that your pain is no longer an issue.

I can't even wish the same amount of pain back on them. But, it goes to show you that they haven't a clue about real pain. I'm all for setting legislation which states that you can't be a certified pain doctor, unless you've experienced real pain yourself.

When people with real pain need medication and doctors treat them like "drug seekers", it really pisses me off.

Due to the DEA, they treat ALL patients as drug seekers. It pisses us all off.

1 every 10 to 12 hours. OMG. They're going to have to make them time released for that to work and it probably wouldn't work then!

So, we should have to pay for those who abuse their meds?

I disagree. It's about the M-O-N-E-Y, and it's sheep like you who buy into that crap.

Good for you.

Others are in much more pain then you are.

What would you say to them?

People that are in more pain need stronger medication so they won't have to take so many a day but here in ms. we have a major pill addiction problem and its the addicts thats makeing it harder for people that truely need pain meds they treat us all like dope heads but pharmacutical is big money, our government wants us on they're drugs rather than legalizeing marijauna which has many cures for different types of pain, read the book the emperor wears no clothes it has all the good things the government does'nt want us to know about marijauna.
