"as long as states set up comprehensive regulations governing marijuana, there would be no need for the federal government to step in, a decision that will save the Justice Department from having to use its limited resources on prosecuting individuals for growing or smoking marijuana."

(Marijuana Ruling Could Signal End of Prohibition on Pot)

Lets wait and see.

Yea they are made up lies.. Your either a cop or big pharm rep or just ignorant fool.

Marijuana will be legal nation wide soon. Your job might end....I HOPE. Now please go find real facts.

The scientific and medical communities need to get involved disseminating the true facts about marijuana's affect on humans. Decisions about legalization should not be made because of populist ignorance and addiction. The information is available. People need to know the overwhelmingly negative medical studies concerning marijuana. Geneticists and psychiatrists can attest to the long term destruction of people and even their children. The social and economic impacts are easy to see, with the youth of America becoming more and more confused and ridiculous in their behaviors.
Right, tell that to the millions of baby boomers who all smoked pot and yet went on to have successful careers and families.

Cordwainer is either a cop o woks for big pharm or somehow makes money off marijuana being illegal.

No sane educated person with nothing to gain or lose supports his lies.

I have to call bullshit on that one Mr. Sheep.
You may have been together for that long, but you certainly have not been married that long. The first legal SSM in the USA was in September of 1999,(that's only 14 years Mr. Sheep) and even then it was not a "marriage". It was a "domestic partnership" that had limited benefits, and it had to have taken place in California.
The first SSM in the USA was not until 2004 in Massachusetts.
Feel free to correct me if I am incorrect.
Was ^that^ another lie from you, or simply a mistake on your part?
I know a gay couple that was married 20 years ago. Maybe they didn't have a piece of paper, but they were married in a church, by a man of God and I'm pretty sure that in the eyes of God, that's enough.

Why would you call someone a liar when you know nothing about them?
There are 80, 90 year olds in gay relationships for 40, 50 years and no law can cancel out their love and loyalty to one another.

Open your mind....and your heart. Stop looking for a fight where there isn't one.

"Dopers"??????
Really?
The 1930's called and they want their word back.

Read a book, zippy. You're the one who sounds like a doper. Bruce Lee, Paul McCartney, Willie Nelson, hell, even Dr. Nancy Snyderman admitted she inhaled and all of them were or are VERY successful. Shall I name all the people who have died from alcohol use? Actually, that would take me days and you don't sound like you're here to learn, only to spread misinformation which has all been renounced by the medical community and I trust their opinion over yours.

Bahahahhahaha...

I get it.

You homophobes are like racists. If someone doesn't follow your uneducated beliefs, than they must be 'one of them'.

I'm a woman, married to a man and if I were gay, I would have stated that.

Guess what? I contribute to charities that fund research to end cancer and I also contribute to 'Save the Whales' but surprise, surprise, I'm not a whale with cancer.

I'll give you sometime to try to comprehend that in your teeny, tiny brain.

Funny thing is, I simply said I do not care who your bunk mate is. You have a bunk mate. Cool. Like I said, I do not care who it is. I do not care what gender that bunk mate is either.
I said nothing about charitable contributions either. Not sure why you thought it appropriate to mention it. Feel better for doing it? Cool
What's to comprehend? I mean other than you call me a name that does not describe me or my beliefs concerning homosexuality.
I do not care who your bunk mate is. Try to let that little gem sink in to your own teeny tiny brain.

Does smoking pot make you reply to things that do not exist? Does smoking pot make you impulsively brag about your charitable contributions, when it was never under challenge or even under suspicion?
Just wondering.

You claimed you could name all the people that have ever died from alcohol abuse, and that you could do it in a matter of days.
I simply was complimenting you on your ability to do the impossible ... name all those who died from alcohol abuse.

Why do you need me to read back to you, your own post Mr. X? You need another doobie maybe?

You are all over the place ! Were your parents stoners? Come on now your telling me that ppl can't smoke pot and lead successful lives? Also that their children become crazies? Come on, I know your not that high! It's harmless and less addictive than nicotine ! There's a reason why Philip Morris is a player in war against pot!!! Obviously big pharmaceutical manufactures don't want it legalized , they'd lose millions of customers to this green natural plant ! Look at our pill dependent nation , no other country comes close to number of pills Americans take! I'd bet opiates are at top of list! Domestics word go down by half , same with theft ! It's a no brainer!

Certainly, potheads can have lives that are materialistically successful. But, many of them stumble and pot leads them to harder, more destructive drugs. There is a correlation between the queers here promoting pot and their use of pot to alter their multiple victim's perceptions. There is a correlation between higher suicide rates and pot. There is a correlation between pandemic mental illness and pot. SSI roles are through the roof because of potheads creating disabilities and becoming leeches. For every "success" story, there are hundreds of loser, drug addled, delusional, destroyed people increasing the homeless numbers and preying on youngsters for a temporary sex thrill.

John Malkovich is pampered by Hollywood and is "successful", but he has female type breasts because he's a doper. See? You dopeheads can slander companies and people and think you're immune. Scientific and medical studies have shown beyond doubt that marijuana is harmful and destructive; it is addictive and a gateway drug; it alters perception. You slackers can't take life the way it is. You're weak and cowards. You'll never be able to fly planes and can't dance. Not satisfied with your own destructions and delusions, you are predators and involve others in your dope so you don't feel alone. Quite a reason for destroying other people's lives!

Marijuana is safer then most of medication you can buy over the counter. Heck you can drink so much water you die...You can never use to much marijuana to die...
Time for facts and not your 1980,s ignorance.
The last time I checked, WHO (World Health Organization), the National Academy of Sciences and medical researchers at Harvard University, to name just a few, aren't affiliated with Big Pharm.

Like any other substance, there are harmful affects, especially to regular users (and I was one for several years and still occasionally indulge).

It's true that you can't overdose on it. But it does raise the heart rate, and for those with certain heart problems, this isn't beneficial. In rare cases, it leads to heart attack. One of the reasons I stopped smoking regularly was heart racing and palpatations...turns out I have a sloppy valve.

It does suppress the immune system, particularly to pulmonary illnesses and infections, because it damages cells in the bronchial passages. There are numerous medical papers and discussions on its use for people getting cancer treatment (it helps relieve the side affects of chemo) because it suppresses the immune system, which chemo does as well. Do the benefits outweigh the risk?

Recent studies seem to indicate that for people who are HIV positive, marijuana may accelerate the process to full blown AIDS, though more study on that topic is needed before they can make a declaration about it one way or the other.

It contains many of the same carcinogens as tobacco, though even regular smokers aren't smoking nearly as much in a day as a cigarette smoker generally does.

It does affect cognitive function, alters measure of time, affects short term memory, does impair learning ability and certain sensory functions. Long term use does affect dopamine receptors in the brain, which like almost any other drug, will cause an anxiety reaction, hence it does become addictive for some people (I had a helluva time stopping all those years ago).

It is the worst substance that a person with bi-polar disorder can use, and I know this from working for several years in a rehab facility with doctors and psychiatrists.

Less harmful than other drugs? Sure. But it isn't harmless.
