Amen!!!

These people need to find a new hobby already. This small obnoxious group of people is going to do nothing as far as banning methadone and closing clinic. New clinics open all the time...haven't heard of any closing down. These people really need to find a better way to spend their time. Methadone save way more lives than it harms. It saved my life. I take it legally under medical supervision. Just because these peoples family members took it illegally, under no medical supervision and died, all of us who benefit should suffer??? I know some people get Dr's that don't know what they are doing that prescribe too much but that isn't the norm. It's not the medication in those cases it's the Dr's.

The anti MMT's really need to find a new hobby!
I'm mean if they need a way to fill their time there are animal shelters, homeless shelters that need voulnteers, inner city kids need mentors(so they don't become drug addicts that need methadone)

I was in an auto accident several years ago where I got introduced to some brain damage, still progressing neck damage/pain, and severe headaches 24/7. Methadone was the first medicine they found that gave me enough relief that I stopped praying at night that I wouldn't wake up in the morning. Some days were so bad I actually started planning to take care of it myself because I couldn't live with the pain. not to mention the things I can't do anymore do to the injuries plus what my brain can't do as well anymore. People need to realize that they are responsible for their own actions. Leave the blame for those peoples stupidity or ignorance and leave the rest of us to do the same.

My husband claimed it was the greatest thing and now he is dead. He went to a clinic daily, and got his dosage dispenced to him and had so many side affects. I told him it was the methadone that was doing causing it and but he could not stop because he was hooked. All those people who claim it is the greatest things are nothing but methadone addicts, just like he was, legal or illegally taken. He left behind 2 small children, who have to face the world now with out their father. Methadone is Heroin and Heroin kills. Methadone needs to be stopped before it kills more families, like it did mine.

It's a terrible drug. Ok., if you've been diagnosed with a terminal illness and are in terrible pain yeah, but to take because of some clinic telling you your an addict! It's a job to them, but they are your enemy. Methadone destroys lives. Why is it our government pays for this? Like my daughter who is an addict and on Medicaid. Why are we paying for this horrible drug to kill her instead of Medicaid paying for rehab? America needs to stop allowing this.

This a perfect example of why this country has so many issue. Your loved one makes alot of effort, and it takes alot to get methadone, but then dies due to an overdose. Now who is at fault? TAKE RESPONSIBILITY FOR YOUR ACTIONS AND QUIT MAKING EXCUSES! The activity of your so called love ones created this situation, not Methadone. You people with no life should do something good for scociety like helping stray or abused animals find homes. Get a life!

would u like to get robbed every day? don't u understand that methadone keeps people safe. if we didn't have methadone we would lose loved ones from being killed by people trying to get there fix every day. people on h will do anything to get high.u need to live in the hood for a wk and u would see how much good methadone really is for people that get hooked on h.

my doc gives me anything i want for my pain. my pain has never left my body after my mva. methadone is the ony pain med that would help me live a half way normal life. if it wasn't for methadone i would of never been able to go back to work. i've had the same job for almost 13 yrs now. methadone has and will always save more lives then it kills. the only reason that so many people have died from methadone is because there is so many kids now days that take any old pill they find.METHADONE SAVES LIVES!!

i just saw a methadone new segment on our state pbs channel.we had 110 plus deaths last year.and that most od the problem was people getting methadone from pain clinics and then mixing it with other drug.it was a fair report and said many times that mixing the drug was the cause of most of the deaths.it also said methadone stay in your body 59 hours.they are having a methadone symposium to to action to cut the upward climb.i thought deaths would have gone down after the took the 40 mgs horse biscuits off the shelf.but they said their has been a huge jump in scripts being written.i hope the are able tomake some good changes to cut death but not keep people getting the help they need.

congrats to mary and melissa. they showed your harmd website twice in the report.
lets all pray and hope more people get educated to turned around the climbing death rate.

Good Morning Vini, I agree with your statement about the dangers of mixing. I am hoping they will become more rigid with drug testing and instead of warnings and not giving take homes there should be other changes. Why not test every morning, difficult..yes, frustrating...yes, waste of time...no. I happen to think if you need methadone at a high dose for addiction and are willing to get up and make your way to a clinic everyday then you have time for a daily urine sample. Most clinics only do a couple times a week and even when a pt is dirty, they still medicate. Why? I say test everyday, if you are dirty - no dosing. This will definitely encourage people to stay off of the other stuff while on meth because as we all know meth w/d is horrific and no one would be willing to go through that. It is too easy now, if someone is addicted to something else like benzo for example they aren't just going to stop because a dirty urine means they have to go to group or lose a take home. Sorry to ramble on but I do feel strongly about that.

Benzos are rarely tolerated in a clinic setting. You will fid yourself i rapid supervised detox.in no time flat with heavy benzo abuse..
Other than that,I dont really have an opion either way on playing urine sample police on every tom dick and harry that eats a xanax..LOL.... Abuse of benzos sticks out like a sore thumb, the ones who think they are invisible and can not speak english must be delt with..asap

IS, that may be the case in your area...but not in mine. Benzo addiction is a very common thing on the meth programs in baltimore. The dealers sit right outside of the program. They cannot just detox...they have strict polocies making them attend groups, restrict take homes and finally a choice of inpatient detox from benzo's or a meth taper. The process is long and can go on for months.

Actually it is about the same.. Imediate loss of privligaes, 1st and over all it could take a few months,to complete a detox or turn the patient around..
