I say we need to finally push to change the drug laws ! I say we legalize Marijuana, then make all the other illegal drugs a death penalty punishable offense. These chemical produced drugs are poison and really should be treated as such. I accept Marijuana as a safer alternative for enjoyable recreation. The chemical drugs just rot the brains of it's users, makes them lazy and worthless, kinda like alcohol does !

And THC isn't a chemical? A majority of pot heads a lazy and worthless as well. Go ahead give me the pot argument because I know you enjoy toking on the plant. You can try all you want but you will never convience me that pot isn't a gateway drug.

nope it's not a chemical, it's a plant !
Yea I know that the other's are plants as well, but to make those drugs useful, they must first be processed with gasoline or diesel fuel. hmmmm just what about that is all natural ? I won't try to convince you of anything, you already admitted your closed minded, no use me trying to change your perception. I am sure my Dr, my Lawyer, and Pastor would disagree with your assumption that we are all lazy and worthless. As for that gateway crap, whatever, I went from alcohol, to cocaine, to crank, then onto Marijuana , and I am happy to say I don't use that other junk anymore, or ever again.
I prefer a SAFER alternative !

Why is it that cops rarely ever get the heavy weight dealers? Its not like Nelson is a major metropolis. Neither is Cville for that matter and this town reeks of all sorts of drugs.

wow! what a bunch of odd balls on this page.
dope is dope but it is your choice to be fried or not.
crack is bad so is pot unless you think it is good ?

booze is fine too if you think it is fine, but what on earth makes you think that way in the first place? You guessed it!The booze and the drugs make you think all is well,,but is it well with your SOUL?

THC is a chemical Einstein. I rest my case on whether or not weed kills brain cells. This idiot doesn't know that THC is a chemical.

THC, Caffein, Nicotine, Ibuprofin, aspirin, milk of magnesia, etc. are all chemicals.
You might be surprised at the education level and accomplishments of some "pot heads" that don't wear a sign on their back to identify their hobby interest. Many mathematical types, researchers, programmers, physicists, etc. prefer the mind altering effects of marijuana, or even occasional LSD trips over the mind dulling effects of alcohol. The fact is, marijuana acts upon the brain by increasing activity, alcohol acts by causing swelling that decreases mental activity. As for the fact that you have decided that marijuana is a "gateway drug" and no facts, reason, or logic will convince you otherwise, that is your right to choose to live in ignorance. Drink up, shriner!

I also note from the article, one man was charged with selling crack cocaine, I am assuming the raid was based on undercover purchases from this individual and he is in a heap of trouble. The two other arrestees were charged with simple marijuana possession and released on summonses, just as one would be released on a summons after being stopped for a simple traffic violation. I note that the courts are at least considering marijuana possession to be no more serious than a traffic violation, and not as serious as drunk driving or drunk in public where the result would be arrest and a trip to jail. I know someone who was unfortunately caught driving while smoking a joint, and he was allowed to drive away with a summons, so it seems that there are some policy makers in the state that do realize the relative dangers of marijuana vs. alcohol intoxication.
Maybe C-VIlle Patriot would be happier with the legal environment in Saudi Arabia or Iran.

Did I say ALL potheads? No I said most potheads. There exceptions to every rule. I was mainly arguing that THC was indeed a chemical.

Yea your right it's a chemical, but to class it with cocaine and crack , isn't a fair comparison , the reason I say this is I can pick a bud off a plant and use it, the coca plant must first be processed with gasoline to extract the drug from the plant, and the side effects and overdose possibility that comes with chemical extracted drugs are no comparison to marijuana ! To overdose on cocaine, you only have to snort a few grams, To overdose on Marijuana I would have to consume 22 tractor trailer loads in 15 mins !
So now that we have established THC as a chemical, what is your next gripe? I got to get back to packing my morning bong hit !

I think I'd like to have a shot at smoking 22 truck loads of it in 15 mins, lol
Yea the thing is it's a chemical, big deal, so is coffee, and I consume tons of that.
This is a drug that has never killed anyone ,EVER !
Say that for your legal alcohol ! I still believe that these other drugs are poison and marijuana isn't ! I have watched enough prescription drug adds on tv to tell you that marijuana is safer than most of the stuff your doctor tries to sell too !
As for Lord's statement that it increases brain activity, I can agree with that statement as well, as I know when I smoke I always get more focused and work harder then when I haven't smoked.
But I know there is no getting into your closed mind, so I guess I wrote this to the rest of you...

Another notable difference between THC and the chemicals that are the active ingredients in cocaine, cigarettes, coffee, beer, some prescription drugs is that THC is not chemically addictive.

Oh no kidding...several years back I broke a few ribs skiing and had to work injured, my doc had me on Percocets for about a month so I could cope with the pain and still work. I remember when I tried to stop taking them, it took two weeks of reducing my dose to ween my body off of them, I was addicted. I know if I don't have my wake up cup of coffee, that I will be miserable and have a headache all day long without it. I also know that during the 26+ years I have been smoking herb, that when I run out, I'm out, there is no withdrawal , there is no moodiness, there are no sweats, or shakes, or any of those other unpleasant side effects I have felt from drugs pushed on me by my Doctor. As for the overdosing risk that every other drug out there has, even aspirin will kill you if you eat a whole bottle, Marijuana cannot be overdosed , there is no possible way to consume 22 tractor trailer loads in 15 years let alone 15 minutes !
