There are 5 comments on the The Greenville Sun story from Dec 5, 2015, titled Drug Epidemic Handicaps Workforce. In it, The Greenville Sun reports that:

The process is straightforward for anyone seeking employment through AccuForce, a staffing agency located on Tusculum Boulevard: You must take and pass a drug test. "Some weeks, we'll do 20-plus interviews and no one fails," said Lori Waddle, senior career specialist at AccuForce.

Sad indeed....and at one time there was a loser thread on here about inquiries as if a certain shampoo would help aid in case of a drug test.

If the job description includes DFWP ie drug free workplace then don't do drugs. If one has to cheat or lie to get or keep a job they are on the fast train to no where. Cheaters are liars, lying is not good for the employer/business. What else did the employee or applicant lie about. Where else is the applicant/employee deceiving the employer, business or customers.

Lying is the gateway behavior to criminal behavior ie legal trouble.

Most companies in this town care less about the employees and are only focused on profits and upper management. For the most part, the only way to get into a good workplace in this town is to know people.. not just be a hard worker who is clean.

Temp agencies are predatory and take advantage of people in this town. Scalping full dollars on the hour from hard working people who are simply trying to get by.

No decent health benefits are offered.

The majority of "temps" are treated like second class workers in the majority of workplaces here.

The pay of a temporary worker is normally 2-5$ less an hour than the person they are working right beside and working just as hard, if not harder.

The temporary employee is expected to work harder in order to prove themselves worthy of being kept around for any extended amount of time.

You do not feel adequate, equal, or appreciated when you are labeled "temporary".

I feel if the companies in Greene Co. would simply start hiring through their own HR department instead of letting others screen and staff their workforce, people would be much more willing to devote their lives to those workplaces. Since when did it become justifiable to be a middle man in employment, sit back and rob people trying to find decent jobs? It's wrong.

Temp workers are actually paid way less than that depending on what temp agency you work for. But you hit it on the nose, it is who you know, not skill set, dependability, honesty, or hard work any longer, only what cliques you fit in or who you are willing to stab in the back or have sex with, with all of the plants here at any rate.
Hard work just doesn't pay off like it used to a long time ago. Sucks for honest people like you and I.
