Can't the Australian navy do more to remedy these types of things? Certainly they have the ordnance to sink the scows bearing these dirty beggars while they are still at sea.

When an airline fare is quicker and cheaper, which does it take most of to clamber aboard a floating deathtrap ... brains or balls? The two can be mutually exclusive.:)

I believe I have. Congratulations! You have gone to just where I hoped you would.

You have raised exactly the issue I had in mind when I last posted. If new arrivals cannot "jump on Qantas - straight thru customs and security checks unchallenged at their end and ours" then it seems reasonable to probe the reason.

That reason might cast doubt on their suitability to enter Australia in the first place.:)

oh how niave can you be - so i am part of a persecuted minority - possibly a fighter against the oppression of the regime - or a doctor caught treating the wounded of the resistance - and you believe IF i have any personal documents left i should pack my case and head to the airport where the regimes goons stand with submachine guns checking out everybody they dont like or think dont like the regime - what planet are you on lol -

Gee in WW2 the allied airmen and escapees - to think - rather being smuggled to freedom by the underground in all kinds of dangerous ways - including leaky boats - should have just turned up to Munich or Berlin airport and presented their identity documents and flown out sipping a pimms - or schnapps lol

It really needs be highlighted , that these people decide to risk their own lives and the lives of their children. Its become too obvious that the boat people are a mixture of genuine asylum seekers , economic refugees and likely terrorist suspects. I think we have reached the point where emotion should not be part of the solution at all. The whole global ethic of SOLAS (Safety of Life at Sea) is being put at risk by these people. They choose their own fate and are too quick to immorally exploit the humanitarian nature of Australian society.Considering the proof that some boats are purposely disabled and sunk , Australians can not be blamed for becoming cynical.

Where have you been throughout the boat people saga?

They make it as far as Indonesia before disposing of their documentation. In other words they have their documents as long as it suits them and only 'lose' those at the point where AUSTRALIAN authorities have a right to view them. They are playing the system at Australia's expense.

By now this is such common knowledge that I suspect you are trying to have a lend of me.

gee generalise much lol - you do know you are sprouting the murdochpress line verbatim lol
and you, like murdoch, imply that arriving sans documentation somehow ensures you will be excepted when it clearly acts as an impediment.( hmmm how exactly does a freedom fighter get hold of a passport or birth cert. from the fascist regime they oppose - or why would you keep or carry identity documents when the authorities are looking for you - or have confiscated them )
you adelaidian are are murdoch parrot lol

When confronted with a viewpoint that curdles your Baby Formula you grope for the threadbare Murdoch ad Hominem. I would have thought that even you would know better than that. Forget Murdoch, I make up my own mind, thank you.

There have been independently reported cases of Asylum Seekers disposing of their documentation, and been overheard joking and boasting about it among themselves.

Many also falsify their ages in ways that only X-Rays can uncover.

So you know where you can stuff your haughty disdain, don't you.:)
