It's all part of the Atzlan "movement", which is full of hot air. But, like everything else, there are plenty of people who buy into his rhetoric.

What I don't get is why on earth they'd want to expand Mexico into the United States...after all, Mexico is such a great economic/world power and all.

This man is no better than a KKK member.

If a white professor were to say these things about any race he would be out of a job.

Yet because this guy is Hispanic, he has the special privledge of making racist statments about white people.

The hypocrisy is disgusting.

Never heard of a Gutierrez that wasn't a racist.

I wonder if Luis Gutierrez is related to Jose Angel Gutierrez?

Racism seems to run in the Gutierrez clan.

You are asking a stupid question but this man wants to kill. Why in the world the National Security is not doing anything about it? This man is a terrorist and should be in jail.

What hypocrites they are south of the border. They want the gringos to return to Northern Europe, forgetting that their ancestors emigrated to Mexico from Spain. If my family must leave North America and return to Germany and Ireland, then all the Mexicans should also leave the continent and buy one-way tickets to Madrid and Barcelona.

But frankly, the Mexicans can have California if they want it back. It will save Americans in the other 49 states from bailing out its state government.

So WHERE are the parents of students at UT? Where is the outcry against this tyranny - for that is what it is! ALL alumni should immediately demand that this man be fired - or NO MORE MONEY...and taxpayers UNITE to get him out! defund him and he will go away! this whole "tolerance" and "diversity" experiment has gone too far...the ONLY thing they tolerate is talk to destroy America! they call Tea Party people "domestic terrorists" - and make heroes out of idiots like this! WHERE IS THE OUTCRY? WHERE ARE THE DEMONSTRATIONS AGAINST HIM? everyone needs to write to UT and tell them to FIRE THIS MAN - cite this quote and video - and get him OUT!

Another case of nothing being done when racism and threats come from a minority. If the opposite came from a white professor he would be led off campus that day. Our society is soo warped.

many words of Spanish origin that have been "naturalized": vigilante, filibuster, avocado, barbecue, corral, tobacco, vanilla, hammock, cigar, canoe, cougar and tapioca. The lingo of the cowboy, that symbol of American vitality and product of the Mexican vaquero, is directly traceable to the Hispanic original.

Perhaps more important than the potent symbolism of the cowboy is that the Mexican gave birth to the cattle industry of this country. It was the Mexican who took the cattle, sheep and horses, which the Spaniard brought to this continent, and transformed and passed on the concept and art of ranching to the Anglo American. Who can estimate the significance and value of this contribution?

Some statistics will help put this subject in perspective. About 80% of the world's food plants originated in the New World. Of the 112 species of plants found north of Mexico, all but 9 were developed, cultivated and improved in Latin America, of which the potato and corn are probably the most important.

America prides itself in having pioneered the principles of equality of all people, which we commonly trace to the works and pronouncements of Thomas Jefferson. But do we know that 200 years before Jefferson was born, Hispanics were laying the foundation for the legal and moral traditions of the new world? In the mid-1500s, Friar Bartolomeo de las Casas was energetically defending and espousing the dignity and equality of the native inhabitants of North America. Two centuries later, Father Junipero Serra, founder of the California missions, became a pioneer in the fight for human rights for the Native Americans.

The Spanish opened St. Augustine School in 1787, the same year that our Founding Fathers were drafting the U.S. Constitution. This school laid the foundation for integrated public education in the United States. Up until then, education was available only to white children from families that could afford private schools.

St. Augustine School was supported by funds from the royal treasury and was free to all children, including black children.

The concept of community property in which the wife is considered a partner in wealth and holdings of the family, especially in income and property ownership, is derived from Mexican law. It is interesting that a society often accused of "machismo" would contain this legal precedent when neither Roman nor English common law establishes such rights for women.

What a bunch of horse crap. The Spaniards enslaved the natives in Mexico and in the US and forced them to build the missions. Try real history for a change.

We don't have an "empire", genius. And we aren't going anywhere. Mexico now has the negative birthrate. That is who is collapsing.
