Right Wing Concocts False Claim That Obama Is Steering Stimulus Money To Areas That Backed Him

Some right-wing blogs have been pushing a USA Today analysis — which found that counties that supported President Obama in the election are getting more stimulus money, per person, than counties that backed John McCain — to claim that the stimulus is actually “an Obama-supporter-payoff scheme.” Steve Benen noted, though, that the conservatives crowing about this article clearly didn’t read all of it , as it includes these sections: Much of [the money] has followed a well-worn path to places that regularly collect a bigger share of federal grants and contracts, guided by formulas that have been in place for decades and leave little room for manipulation…The imbalance didn’t start with the stimulus. From 2005 through 2007, the counties that later voted for Obama collected about 50% more government aid than those that supported McCain, according to spending reports from the U.S. Census Bureau.

You funny. Gee, what's BO doing different in the War on Terror than Bush did? Sure there was a lot of bluster and lies at first about "change"..but what's changed?:) The economy is worse now than it was under Bush, and no sign of it getting better..plus BO and the Dims have run up the debt even more than Bush ever did. If anyone's to blame for the BO debacle, it's our wonderful MSM, who reported we were in a recession from 2000 until what do you know, we finally got one...after the Dems got control of the legislature. Seems like people are finally wising up to BO though, his numbers are a droppin....:)

Well gee ... just look at the GM "bailout". Obama had taxpayers pay $50 billion "to keep GM from going bankrupt" ... but what it did was put Obama in control of the later bankruptcy to insure that the UAW not only survivied, but was given priority over secured lenders.
$50 billion of our tax dollars so Obama could save the UAW ... not GM.
There are now stories where politically connected dealerships scheduled for closing that were reversed. And here we are told Obama is not running the new Government Motors ... LOL ... yeah ... uh huh.

Just take a good look at those "stimulus" funds ... that create no jobs ... but fund hundreds of liberal projects, like saving the marsh mouse or a new turtle trail...

Naw ... Obama wouldn't direct those funds for his purposes ... He wouldn't lie ... now would he?

He had to make sure a big donor and supporter was wel"greased" Chicago-style. If he thinks that everyone is going to buy into jobs created to take the 2010 Census and claim that the economy is recovering because of these "Census" workers (e.g. ACORN) he is mistaken. The BS is out of the bag and the smell will remain long enough for everyone to get tired of being down wind...

People, don't believe these stories. There are forces behind the scenes trying to undermine Obama's stimulus package. The banks PURPOSELY are not lending money. The states(mostly headed by GOP Governors), are trying to hoard the money and not letting it get into the system. Corporate America, the GOP, and old members of the Bush regime are trying to derail anything Obama does. They want his Presidency to be a complete and utter failure. Obama MUST put together a strong PR team, and start forcing the money to get into the mainstream. Why are people suffering? They are suffering from the Republicans, NOT Obama! President Obama, stand up for yourself, and start fighting for the people! We still support you. What's the alternative people, going back to 5.00 a gallon gas, 401K's and Wall Street cleaned out? More WARS? Foreclosures, and jobs sent overseas. Ohio, I can't believe OHIO. After voting for Bush twice, and then he gives them the shaft and depletes their state of practically every job, they are criticizing President Obama. Your state is suffering because of BUSH! Let this be a lesson to anyone thinking of backing a Republican. No matter how you vote, or how many times for them, they will stab you in the back regardless. Stand up and support your President.
