I certainly think he should be encouraged to do so, since it is easily proven on the video. Do you think maybe if he doesn't someone got to him and paid him off?

replay that incident, but replace "kid" with "Chuck Norris".

"hey congressman, do you support obama's agenda? or am i gonna have to roundhouse kick you into November 2010?"

This was absolutely inexcusable and uncalled for. No matter what the congressman said afterwards in his statement, he should be held accountable for his actions. The fact that it was caught on video and shown should give the local law enforcement to file their own charges against the congressman even if the student didn't want to. I know that can happen in some other states. This further proves and confirms what I've believed for many years now, that nearly ALL politicians feel they are above the law and that certain laws don't apply to them. This congressman should be fired out of office immediately for his public assault on a citizen and charges filed against him. Afterall, if he was just a regular person either a APB would be out for his arrest or he would be in jail or he would be out on bond awaiting trial. Our laws here in the US should apply to ALL people that live here. They shouldn't be overlooked just because a person holds public office weather it be a Senator, Congressman, or President. That's one mistake we the people made, we let our politicians start making laws that only affected us and not them which I've always seen as unfair. The laws of our Nation should affect us ALL in the same way. I believe our Constitution reflects that opinion when it said "ALL MEN ARE CREATED EQUAL" which I believe was intended to mean that all laws should be created to affect everyone equally and the politicians had no right creating laws that affected us and not them or that affected us on a different level than them. In other words, if you assault and it can be proved, then you should be arrested and charged and have to face your own actions.

I have voted republican since Barry Goldwater's run for president. This was a cheap shot on the congressman. Let his constituents decide if they want to return him to congress. The Republican Party should disassociate themselves from this.

"Narcissistic," the teabagger's favorite word of the moment. Even if a lot of them have no idea what it means. To some of you I think it means "a liberal who thinks he's as good as we are." When used of Obama, it's usually a synonym for "uppity."

Your desperate desire to see charges filed indicates that this is nothing but a political football for your side. How predictable!

I agree with the guy from Arkansas. He has no right to assault anyone. let the police arrest him at once, and let the taxpayers get a break for a change by not paying this guy's salary anymore.

You can also write to the governor of the state, Bev Purdue, who's a lady governor. I doubt she'd want to see her son treated the way this despeciable congressman did to this young student.
What's so screwed up to me, is the fact that we no longer see to have the right to free speech! I see that quite a bit in the democrats demeanor lately.

Shame on you Ethridge! Well, at least it's a wake-up call to what the democrats are really feelings. No warm fuzzy feelings here, or tinglings up one's leg! ROTFLOL
They ought to print this congressman's photo under the word Hostile in the dictionary from now on.
And if a regular citizen did this sort of thing, the cops would arrest them toute suite.
Assault & battery is a crime. Why do the taxpayers have to pay for a congressman to do this sort of thing?

Oh, this guy is a Republican? Well, that makes it even worse. Yes, totally remove this guy from Public Office at once!

Why would you say good for the congressman. He roughed someone up just for asking a simple question fire43?

At the time of this attack when BOB grabbed this kid, Someone should have broken BOBs teeth out of his empty head via a knuckle sandwich. This video clearly shows an assault and you have the right to defend yourself from this type of an attack.

This is way after the fact, but I just now came across it. With everything this right wing lie machine is pedaling, any one of you come on up to western north carolina and find out how you fare if you try your little stunts. What the congressman did was not near enough for a punk-so again I would prefer that bob should have put his rear end up somewhere near his shoulders. That would have been a good start. by the way are you proud of those you elected in 2010, if you are unemployed look to them. Cutting spending in a economic depression! Fools!
