HEY wrote: <quoted text> You do know that they have parades down the streets, don't you? Parades are immoral, gotcha Anything in the media or any social gathering out there which has heterosexuality in it (not just the sex part, but even the matching of male and female together in no sexual ways), is a celebration of heterosexuality. You guys celebrate it with everything. Even many of us celebrate it simply because it is the only way we can make a living. Should see how much of your heteronormative world is designed and witten by a fag. Is it no wonder we want one day of the year where we can express ourselves openly and not feel at threatened by ignorance? Any wonder we go overboard sometime? Have you seen mardi gras? Girls flash their tits for beads? It is good fun, but it is prostitution plain to any eye. So when one day a year a few leather daddies walk down the street in nothing but chaps, it really shouldn't be a big deal. Pretty sure you would happily go to Mardi Gras and let women prostitute themselves for beads for your gain.

You're accepting faith as truth. Very dangerous. LOL! I guess I'm skating on thin ice then....Oh well, you only live once.

SongBookz wrote: <quoted text> The problem is of course that the Bible only applies to those who believe in it. Conservative Christian doctrine is that those who have not said the correct ritualistic prayer to "get saved" cannot please God no matter what they do - they can rape, pillage, and murder or give millions to feed the homeless - and neither act is pleasing to God since they are not "Christians." Therefore, to hold non-believers to one's interpretation of biblical standards is wrong. Of course....Wrong to them.

No, hate crimes protections won't redeem anything. They are a down payment on the approach of full equality, to include ENDA, the repeal of DADT Don't Pursue, civil unions and domestic partner benefits everywhere, and eventually marriage equality. Praiz!

Too similiar like for like crimes (man lynched and attempted to be skinned alive), One crime has the added element of a hate crime based on a single white KKK member on black man. The other crime was equally as brutal(black on black crime) no hate crime charged- reason??? the criminal did it because he screwed his girlfriend. Is that equal justice to the victims.

That's exactly what I attempted to address in post#72.

>>>Tank Murdoch Is that equal justice to the victims. >>>Gillette Justice is owed to society, not the specific victims. Prisoners "pay their debt to society." One function of hate crimes laws is that they help prevent a majority from oppressing and/or killing a minority.

Maybe, in theory, that is it's purpose, but that is not how it is working out.

WRONG!,GOVT COULD NOT ADVOCATE ONLY ONE RELIGION!! THAT ANY CITIZEN CAN WORSHIP AS THEY PLEASED.OUR NATION JUST HAPPEND TO BE FOUNDED ON CHRISTIAN PRINCIPLES AND IT IS THESE PRINCIPLES THAT HAS GIVEN US THE ABILIY TO HAVE FEEDOM OF RELIGION AND SPEACH. Tickedoffchick wrote: CIMLAS2, "We also should not have laws preventing us from standing up for what is Biblically correct!" Have you really thought about what you said, in that sentence? The OT is part of the Bible. Are you ready to become like Iran? Remember, the Quran was also influenced by the Bible. Our founding fathers took great pains to make sure we would NOT have our laws influenced by any particular religion. You should study the history of the early Christian Church, through and after the Reformation. Any religious authority that also had political authority,(Christian, Catholic, Protestant), engaged in major oppression.
