What makes me laugh is when these corporations like Target boast about "creating 250 jobs". Well, first off, there are jobs and then there are jobs that pay a living wage for the area that the store will serve.
The wages that Target pays are not enough to live on in Marin, so that means that they will have to import workers from other areas or countries. Promoting more commuters and traffic.
Oh, I forgot, they can recruit workers from the canal who live communally packed 14 people into a 2 bedroom apartment. Lovely.

At the Target in Novato, which is in Marin County, contrary to what SOME people say, the workers all look pretty American to me. And by American, I mean that they don't look like foriegners. And I can usually spot one of those foriegners a mile away...

The overnight crew is mostly Spanish-speaking with hardly any English skills. You won't see them unless you happen to be there when they are showing up for work or leaving in the morning. This is actually the best time of year to notice them, since Target stays open til 11 from the day after Thanksgiving until December 23rd.

They should keep those hours until December 24th. Because that's the day that I do my Christmas shopping. At around 8 pm.

Which explains why my gifts are not known for their originality. But hey, I think a gift card from iTunes makes a pretty god gift...

Just don't scratch too hard on those things. I'm sitting here with a $25 card with the numbers completly obliterated. Can't iTunes make it so that won't happen? Or, maybe they WANT it to happen...

I think they should stay open that late year-round. But this is Novato - it seems like you need a special permit to stay open past 10.
