Well, there go jobs that people around the community could have had. There goes revenue that the city could have had. Clean air, the same amount of noise pollution, and traffic are more important than keeping people off the unemployment line. Thank you to all the people against the wal-mart in the city. God only knows how many lives could have improved with the super-store. Lets hope no other big store, that could improve peoples lives, thinks of coming to a community like Rosemead...take those stores to cities that really need them...!!!!!!! Rosemead is too good of a community, city, or area for things like that store. Next they'll want to get rid of Target that's right off of the 10 west freeway!!!!!!!!!!

Wal mart does not improve lives in the community, should your ignorance not allow you to render a logical conclusion, they are not worker friendly. These stores bring in more debt to the city, county state and nation. They encourage their staff to use medi-care medic-aid and not a health insurance. Over all, the work force that wal-mart has is a burden on the state as well as the nation. In addition, they pay peanuts and offer very little to no incentive for upward mobility.

The only clear winner was the Rosemead City Attorney Petter Wallin and his staff.
Their fees were paid (reimbursed) by Wal-Mart.
Killed a lot of trees.
Save our Community, Inc the 501 C3 Non Profit Public Benefit Corporation recieved no monies from the settlements, not even expensesn nor did any officer of the Corporation including President Larry Bevington and myself.
No candidate for political office including Mayor John Tran, Mayor Pro-tem John Nunez, Councilman Pollly Low, and candidate Victor Ruiz received any of the settlement.
How Maggie Clark, Stephen Ly, Gary Taylor and Jay Imperial benefited is unknown. Dinnner at Dennys?
WE do not see any report of expenses for the extensive polling and phone banking (from out of state) for their last campaign.
One item deleted from the final settlement agreement in addition to the removal of the Garvey School District and the City of Rosemead who were not parties was a requirement to place all the names and addresses of community spirited citizens (SOC unincorporated association and PAC) in a sealed envelope.
The purpose of this could only be future mishceif and intimidation so we fought hard for this one.
Rosemead Partners/ Pride members and Denny's munchers will appreciate that SOC ensured that no lists were kept of them either.
